Two New Inheritance Books Released!

I figured I'd make a thread here to sum up the news we've been posting on Shur'tugal lately regarding the two new installments to the Inheritance cycle.

Brisingr Deluxe Edition

First off, the Deluxe Edition of Brisingr released in October. It contains some deleted scenes, a great guide to dwarven runes, a drawing of Galbatorix (done by Christopher Paolini), and a painting of the Lethrblaka (done by John Jude Palancar).

I reviewed the book (including a summary of contents but no spoilers) on Shur'tugal the day it released. You can read that review here: http://shurtugal.com/?news=711

If interested, you can buy the Brisingr DE through Amazon for cheap (you save over $10 on it) and support Shur'tugal at the same time through this link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/037585481...ASIN=0375854819

Eragon's Guide to Alagaesia

My personal favorite of the two new books is Eragon's Guide to Alagaesia, the first installment in the Inheritance cycle written by Christopher Paolini that isn't actually one of the four books. The book was put together by a company known for making "-ology" books, like "Dragonology". It's a 16 spread visual guide to Alagaesia written by Christopher Paolini and narrated by Eragon Shadeslayer. The book is supposed to be a culmination of notes, instructions, drawings, diagrams, and fairths Eragon has collected on his journey throughout Alagaesia given to new Riders (the reader) to help them in their training.

I put together a full list of what to expect from the book as well as a review on Shur'tugal earlier today. There's an incredibly amount of amazing artwork in this book. I've said it a few times now and I'll say it again - the best way to describe this book is that it's everything the Eragon movie should have been.

You can read the review/summary of content here on Shur'tugal: http://shurtugal.com/?news=714

If you want an actual look at the book's insides, we have an exclusive "sneak peek" at Eragon's Guide to Alagaesia over on Shur'tugal: http://shurtugal.com/?news=713

If interested, you can buy Eragon's Guide to Alagaesia through Amazon for cheap (you save over $8 on it) and support Shur'tugal at the same time through this link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/037585823...ASIN=0375858237

We're also giving away five autographed copies of each book on Shur'tugal starting tomorrow! Check out the website for more information.

Do You Want a New User Name?

Arthryn Needs a Feebas

Okay so...

It was the weekend and freezing cold outside so I took the day off and bummed around catching up on Pokemon. Today I decided that since I have a lot of time, I'd look for a Feebas. I now what to strangle the Pokemon game developers. If you know anything about Pokemon generations III and IV, you'd know that Feebas is a bitch to find.

I got about halfway through the lake fishing on every damn square, and then realized that it was about midnight and that all my effort would be for naught because the Feebas-containing squares switch to new random locations each day. At the same time I realized the body of water was about twice as big as I thought.

Because I'm so incredibly frustrated, I've decided to <strike>abuse</strike>use my admin powers to ask you guys if any of you have a Feebas you would like to give me in exchange for awesome goodies like custom titles, internet cred, cool sigs and avatars, perhaps warn reduction if I like you, and of course, a new Pokemon that will hopefully be cool enough for you.

So... wanna trade Pokemon?

PS: Charles and I still want legendary Pokemon too (go listen to IFCast 3)

PPS:

NEW!!

Video Games forum thread just for trading Pokemon: Pokemon Trading Thread

More staff changes

So if you were wondering why we chose to hire more mods when we did, it's because, with much sadness, we must announce the departure of two of our staff members.

Hadhafang is resigning from her post as Vice Admin after a long, long stint as first a Cycle Mod, then a Global Mod, and finally Vice Admin. We'll miss her a lot.

Also resigning is Vaevictis, who has served the cycle section well.

We hope you guys get your real world issues taken care of.

In light of these resignations, Charles will be promoted to the post of Vice Admin, and Loki will be promoted to the position of Global Mod.

Since Charles is an Admin now, you guys better watch out. He'll shoot you with his commissar gun.

New Mods!

Good news guys. We have new mods. We have decided that Cycle is always in need of a new moderator, so we gave the nod to Tsukyo, who graciously accepted. We also moved another person to mod in RPG. Saphira_Gal27 will now be a mod there.

Keep in mind that although they are section mods, they deserve your respect throughout the forum. Those sections are not easy to mod, but I expect them to do very well. I've gotten to know them pretty well from their posting, and they definitely will help improve this forum.

So I just want to say Congrats to both of them, and let you guys know who your new masters are.
