Homework Help

In the chat thread, people have been talking about some trouble they've had with their homework. I figure that you guys should have the opportunity to ask for help if you want to though. Obviously no one here is likely going to do work for you, but I figure that everyone turns it off during class every once in a while.

Personally, I think I can help pretty substantially in math. I've done all the engineering level math (Calculus 1-3, Differential Equations, Physics 1-2 w/ Calculus, Number Theory. Linear Algebra,) so if you need help, maybe I or someone else who has been through your class can help you out.

New Picture Thread

So this is the new reset of the picture thread considering the last one got to 100, and it's good to renew them after enough time has passed. Enjoy yourselves, and keep the spamming down.

Here are some rules for posting in the picture thread:

Rule 1: Don't quote pictures with 2 words after it. It's irritating.
Rule 2: If you change the tag to timg instead of img when you quote back the picture it'll be a thumbnail. This way we'll have less of each page just being quoted back images.
Rule 3: Don't get off the subject of pictures. We have threads for you to chat with people about inane crap. Go there for that.
Rule 4: This isn't 4chan. I know some of you here are proponents of 4chan, but that will definitely not fly here.
Rule 5: The topic is pictures of you. There is no point in posting pictures of other people/animals/objects.

Guilty Pleasure Music

So there are bands we all like that we know we shouldn't because they are either lame or dumb, but we do anyways because there's just something about them that you can't turn down. I was wondering what bands are your guys' guilty pleasures. I'll give an example.

Ever since I was in high school I've listened to Dashboard Confessional. I don't really know why. I find his lyrics to be predictable and self indulgent. His guitar parts aren't particularly intriguing. His voice is kind of whiney. The main songwriter, Chris Carraba, is incredibly unlikable. For some reason though, if I'm in the mood, I'll pop in a Dashboard mix an ex girlfriend made for me 6 years ago, and it always tends to do something for me.

New Mods!

Good news guys. We have new mods. We have decided that Cycle is always in need of a new moderator, so we gave the nod to Tsukyo, who graciously accepted. We also moved another person to mod in RPG. Saphira_Gal27 will now be a mod there.

Keep in mind that although they are section mods, they deserve your respect throughout the forum. Those sections are not easy to mod, but I expect them to do very well. I've gotten to know them pretty well from their posting, and they definitely will help improve this forum.

So I just want to say Congrats to both of them, and let you guys know who your new masters are.

September 7th News Post

Hey guys.

So what's going on this week. Well, labor day just happened so that means most of you are probably back in school now. This probably means we're going to be getting more posts during school from you slackers.

So let's throw up some topics.

One of the few RPGs that's really gone from beginning to end in a good fashion is up for a sequel. Black Angels Project is looking for people. You can find it here. Riss has assured me that you didn't need to be involved with the first one in order to understand this one, so feel free to jump in.

There's also a mature RPG going on that I'm putting together based off Battle Royale. Most of the guy characters have been established but we do have a number of openings for girls. You can make a character here.

An interesting conversation regarding derivation in writing is being held here in the writer's hangout.

For those of you who are interested in college football, you're probably aware it started this last weekend. We have a thread to talk about it here.

We've been talking about the PS3 slim in the video game section.

We have a illegal immigration topic in Mature Discussion, which makes me wonder why we haven't had one before...In any case, here it is.
