Jonathan opened his eyes from turbulence that shook the plane. Ungh I hate these birds He thought as he took a look around the cargo hold of the converted b-17. When they converted the bomb holds to Parachute racks for OSS men like Jon, they didn't add any of the small comforts that the crew enjoyed. Looking at the team, he smiled at the fact that none of them had thrown their dinner up. He knew some of them hadn't had Airborne training, as well as the fact the b-17 was not the most comfortable ride, so seeing that they had a tough stomach, Jonathan took as a positive sign.

Watching the radio officer on board the plane move to him, Jonathan struggled to stand up under the massive of his gear. Shuffling to the radio officer, a young lieutenant who looked like he fresh from the states, saw him give a quick nod, before shouting over the noise of the four massive engines and the noise from the neighboring bombers,

"Captain, we are about five minutes from the drop point." He didn't have to tell Jonathan what that meant.

"Copy that Lieutenant, tell the driver to keep the bird straight and light us up when we're nearing."

Turning to the group of men and women sitting on the jump benches, Jonathan gave the hand order for them to stand. 'Inspect kits, make sure chutes and gear are stowed safely on you." Checking one of the sergeant's gear, he gave him a slap on the shoulder. Seeing the red jump light turn on, Jonathan turned on the bomb bay doors, opening them to the howling wind as they shook violently. "Quick crash course on jumping from here, ATTACH ZIP LINES" He shouted as the sound of the lines attaching themselves to the chord, could barely be heard. Making sure the zipline was attached was one of the most important thing to make sure happened for a paratrooper. The lines would deploy the chute automatically making the drop extremely safer than if it wasn't there.

Continuing on, "We will dropping from below instead of out of the door. If your chute does not open after five seconds, pull this chord" he said as he motioned to a sack on his chest,"This will deploy your emergency chute. As for ground fire, try not to get hit."

Looking over at the jump light as it turned green, Jonathan shouted over the noise "SEE YOU GROUND SIDE!" as he took a few steps and dropped out of the bomb bay over occupied France. one one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand, four one thousand, fi-whoa Jonathan thought as he felt his chute opened and jerk him up. Feeling his ascent stop and slowly descend, Jonathan slowly looked down at the darkness that was occupied France. "So peaceful it looks, I just wish it wasn't a mirage." he said to himself as he saw his drop pattern would land him in a tree, Jonathan motioned with the straps to steer him to a sparse meadow. In less than a minute he felt felt his feet touch the ground and he instinctively did a roll.

Getting up after landing, Jonathan took his chute off and began to pack it in a sack that ran his leg. When he started with the OSS, they taught him to remove any sign that you have parachuted in, and the biggest give-away was the canopy of a deployed chute. Stuffing the parachute inside the bag and tossing it behind a roll of hay, Jonathan pulled his weapon out, an MP40 and loaded a clip into into it. throwing his helmet into a pile of bushes, he put a black skull cap on that matched his blackened face. Giving the code whistle for them, Jonathaan waited for his team to emerge and regroup on him.

Okay here's the Character sheet, Pretty self explanatory. All I ask is for units is that you pick a unit that actually fought in either the European or North African theater during WWII. I don't want to see first marine division or Navy SEALS used mmmkay? SAS SBS and the royal marine commandos, the rangers, airborne units are allowed.

You can use this to look up units.

=======================================
Name: Jonathan Hurst

Age: 26

Rank: Captain, US Army.

Gender: Male

Nationality: American

Personality: Jonathan is gruff, but personable. He views leadership as a hands on approach, meaning that, he will not ask his subordinates to do something that he wouldn't do himself. He takes the responsibility of keeping his men alive seriously and gets angry and aggressive towards those who jeopardize their lives without a valid reason.

Appearance: Jonathan stands at 6 foot with a muscular build. Light grey eyes, short black hair take care of his face. He keeps clean shaven and usually prefers to wear his combat uniform than dress.

History: Born to affluent parents in New York, Jonathan grew up up with the glitz and glam of the City. Often getting in trouble in his teenage years causing mischief, Jonathan never really felt the effects the depression had on the outside world. Going to a college down South that his parents sent him so he could buckle down, Jonathan found there was nothing much to do except to study. Studying history, he quickly excelled and graduated 2 semesters early from his courses.

Jonathan upon graduation joined the Army as it was a solid job with no fighting at the time in 1940. Graduating OCS, he volunteered for Airborne school and passed that as well as well as being recommended in 1941 to be sent to the Commando School Britain had formed. Excelling in the school, Johnny when WWII broke out for the US, became one of the founding members of the 1st special service force, comprised of Canadian and American soldiers. Transferred shortly after the formation, Jonathan was sent to work for the OSS, dropping into occupied France, and assisting the French resistance in training and helping to lead raids against them for months at a time. It was his expertise in sabotaging Nazi installations and connections with various resistance members that earned him command of the team.

Unit originally with: 1st special service force, attached to OSS

Special Skills: Jonathan is proficient in a number of small arms, Axis and Allied, as well as rated an expert in unarmed hand to hand combat, and hand to hand combat with a knife.

Johnny listened as Alaric read out the names of those who were on the teams with a calm determined face. When it came for Alaric to read the names of Johnny's team, he perked and looked at the group of trainers with a warm smile. Picking up his phone Johnny called up an airlines and got a hold of customer service rep.

"Thank you for calling Red line airlines, How may I help you?" an attractive female voice said over the phone.

"Hi, darlin' I'm going to need Ten first class tickets to New Orleans on the next available flight from Pittsburgh." He replied smoothly.

"Alright sir we have a flight leaving at 4:55 this evening and what are the names of those who will be on the flight?"

"It, will Johnny Goode,Dave Hardy,Charles Wise,Tyler, Noriyuki Hirioka, D'Argo Meonos, Drew Jacobs, Max Cassock, Dillon Trice and one ticket under the name Mittens. and it will be paid under credit card number 2334-9756-123-98 expiration 12/89."

"Okay sir, the total will be 6,500 credits and charged to your card is that alright?"

"Perfect sweetheart. Thank you and have a wonderful day" Johnny said as he hung up the phone and put it back into his pocket.

Watching Alaric's Team depart for their classroom to get to know one another, Johnny clapped his hands and spoke in a warm tone, "Alright, if you'll follow to the classroom we'll be able to get these introductions done and over with and I can get you all on the plane that will take you where you will be training." Making a sweeping Motion towards the door Johnny said "Let's go people we are going to classroom B115, in case you forget where we are headed or get separated from the group."

Walking out of the gym and walking towards the classroom, Johnny started thinking We have some good potential here, lets hope it doesn't go to waste Walking into the class room, Johnny hopped onto the desk shortly followed by mittens joining him. When everyone had been seated Johnny spoke up in a loud voice, grinning he said

"Well, Let me be the first to introduce to myself to everyone. My name is Johnny B. Goode and I'm originally from New Orleans although I have spent most of the time since I was ten, living all over the place, either with my job, which I will not get into, or when I was attending school in Europe and the US. I took up pokemon training through some associates of mine and found I'm pretty good at it. This here" he said pointing at Mittens "is mittens. I would not recommend coming up to me suddenly or without first letting Mittens see you, as he will attack and that would be quite unfortunate. Okay, that's it for me right now, if you have any questions for me please wait until after the introductions."

Pointing at the person sitting nearest to him, Johnny spoke in a friendly tone, "Why don't you stand and start this off?"

OOC: Okay, I opened it up for anyone to start up...Welcome to my team guys.

I am in the process of reading this book called Sunflowers by Simon Weisenthal. It is a collection of responses from various peoples concerning one question that was posed to Simon Weisenthal when he was in a concentration camp during WWII. Would you be able to forgive a dying SS man of his atrocities and give him absolution on his deathbed for his deeds? Simon Weisenthal wasn't able to come up with an answer and couldn't say yes or no to forgiving him, and he posed this question, which I pose to you now,

Would you be able to forgive that man if you were Simon Weisenthal?

You know, considering quite how popular a medium of conversation it is on here, I really should see about acquiring AIM. 'Tis one more thing to add to my list of tasks after the ever-hectic exam season >_<

Mine probably would have flailed in his early years, but towards the end of his long life he became apathetic about that sort of thing, bless him.
