On the surface it appears that on a fair playing field that Eragon would indeed be the victor, though there are some unknowns about Murtagh that we may not know about. Perhaps some advanced training or mental fortitude to keep his composure in a fight that Eragon may not be able to keep fighting his friend/brother. Murtagh has some years on Eragon and is the older brother so he might have something up his sleeve like an older brother usually does. Since they are only half brothers Eragon has a lot of Brom in him, and we know Brom bested Murtagh's father Morzan. Given they both received the same training and instruction I actually believe Eragon would still win, due to his genealogy. I agree. Murtagh would win if he had his eldunari... but Eragon would destroy murtagh in a fair fight. -------------------- A team of highly trained monkeys have been dispatched to effectively deal with the situation.

It's for sure what most everyone said, Eragon beats Murtagh.
But Eragon only wins if both of them fights with only their real power ( without eldunarya, elven spellcasters, Aren, Beloth, the wise, etc.). Because the power of Murtagh's eldunarya are really strong and would beat Eragon. Because Eragon stopped Murtagh with the help of Arya and the other elfs, I'm sure that Murtagh received some more Eldunarya (but that's only speculation). -------------------- |
