Deadrising stared at his bow regretfully. He muttered a few indecent words under his breath, thinking all the while he shouldn't have shown himself in the kitchen, looking for food. It had been days since they had anything but salty crackers with unsweet butter made by Tucker du Shurtugal, who knew nothing at all of how to cook. He used sugar in place of salt and pepper in place of sugar. Cakes tasted spicy, meat tasted sweet, and Mean Pinky couldn't do anything since he was too busy tending a pig who wouldn't wake up, but was still breathing. Now he had to go hunting all because he was looking for a piece of edible food.
Wonderful.
He shuffled out of his room into the barn, watching as Mean Pinky slapped the pig on the side. It snorted loudly, but it didn't open its eyes. MP kicked it, but it only kicked back, not opening it's eyes. Dead smiled, this would be fun. He hid behind the corner, fastening a rock into the bow instead of an arrow. He aimed carefully at the big pile of pink, brought the bow back ... released ...
The rock flew the distance between them, but instead of hitting the pig it hit MP smack dab in the middle of the stomach. He fell back, hugging himself in his arms, while the pig stood up, opening it's eyes in amusement, and laughed in it's piggy squeels.
Dead gasped and ran back unto the road, hiding his bow under his shirt. "Great job, Dead, great job!" he muttered to himself, though in his mind, he wasn't being sarcastic.
