I've decided to put together a variety of websites that help with learning to draw. Study how the professionals and almost professionals do it! biggrin.gif

Makani's tutorials << She's so funny. Make sure you check out the rest of her website. She does tons of HP art.
Drawing Faces
Basic Photoshop colouring

Furiae Tutorials
Fern Blossom Tutorials
Anticz Head tutorial
Anticz Hand tutorial

Neon Dragon Art Tutorials (Everything from heads, to hands, to dragons, to feathers) Jessica Peffer is one of my favourite online artists. She does lots of dragons and fantasy creatures.

StartArt tutorials << Mostly for digital tutorials.

Markering tutorial Those with slow connections, be warned... this is a huge image on dA.

A general Art site with links to tutorials

A Pixel Art tutorial For those of you interested in the MS Paint contest smile.gif

How to draw Manga

Art by Lauren Bergholm No tutorails, but you should all stare at her awesomeness anyways.

Mockingbirdflyaway... I cannot thank you enough for posting these. Wow. I went through Makani's links, and yes, she's funny. Made me laugh, and it was so helpful. And I also went through all the Furiae tuorials... *falls over in amazement* Struck by lightning struck by lightning! (this comment will only make sense if you've read the Hobbit) Just wow. I've learnt so much already, and I can't wait to apply them to my drawings.

Thankyou, thankyou again! biggrin.gif

Edit: I went through most of the others. Just as impressed, and I never would have found these on my own. Thanks again! EVERYONE!!! READ THEM! IT'S WORTH IT!!!

I travelled with them through the pages
Journeyed the mountains and valleys
Forged the streams
And when I emerged it was as if to a dream world
Rather than reality.

I'm glad you appreciate them smile.gif I hope everyone else will find them useful. One thing that's good to do is to find artists whose style you like, along with pictures of people in different poses or doing different actions and copying things from them freehand (i.e. NOT tracing) for practice, because then you get a feel for how and where things go that you can apply to your original drawings later on.

Thanks for taking the time to find all these Mockingbird! This really helps me, since I only recently took interest in drawing people. I can draw a face, but not much else. So for now, I'm stuck with portraits. Hopefully that won't be so for long.

Thank you, again.

FABULOUSSSSS!!

Does anybody have a good tutorial for how to draw feet/legs/boots. I hate feet and I need to learn not to.

I'll add 'the world around you' as a drawing resource.

Darth, what could benefit you is having a friend or sibling stand barefoot so you can observe and draw their feet (drawing your own feet is hard) and legs. You can even get a ruler and measure the length, how high the ankle bone is, how long the big toe is, and take note of those ratios for future reference. Drawing isn't so much about finding a tutorial and following it, while you can do that, a deeper understanding and observation of your subject matter is extremely helpful.
