After seeing several threads coming up with "what book would I like according to my preferences" subjects, I came up with the idea to make this thread. Here, you can post your preferences in books and ask for recommendations for you. There will be some rules in this thread to prevent it from becoming hectic and confusing.

When asking for book recommendations, you must follow this form:
CODE
[b]General Preferences:[/b]

[b]Past books that I liked:[/b]

[b]Age Range:[/b]

When replying to requests, you MUST quote the requester's post to prevent confusion. For instance, use the 'Reply' button when replying to that recommendation request. Please take into account the person's age to decide on how complicated of books that the person would enjoy. And also, Age Range is not necessarily your age, but the age range of books that you read (your reading level, in other words).

Try and keep everything as orderly as possible. Thanks.

Have you read the Age of Five Trilogy, by Trudi Canavan? Also the Black Magician trilogy by the same author. Keep an eye out for 'Priestess of the White', which is the first book in AoF. It's a mixture between civillised medieval period with magic, but there is a number of adult themes. I'm not fond of high fantasy, but this is such without being epic, and the characters are very well written.

Have you read The Books of Pellinor by Alison Croggan? There is The Naming (or The Gift), The Riddle and The Crow so far. The Singing is tha last book but is not out yet to my knowledge.

Or, check out the author Cecilia Dart-Thornton. She has written The Bitterbynde Trilogy and The Crowthistle Chronicles.
I travelled with them through the pages
Journeyed the mountains and valleys
Forged the streams
And when I emerged it was as if to a dream world
Rather than reality.

I would suggest the Riftwar Saga by Raymond Feist. It has all the classic fantasy stuff (elves, dwarves, dragons, magic, ect) plus a lot of stuff that goes above and beyond that. The first book in the series is called "Magician" (now it is split into "Magician: Apprentice" and "Magician: Master") and I highly recommend it.

I am looking for some recommendations myself also...........

General Preferences: Fantasy and lately Greek mythology

Past books that I liked: Battle Royale, A Song of Ice and Fire, Harry Potter, The Riftwar Saga, Ilium/Olympos

Age: 20

EDIT: Somebody suggested to me the "Percy Jackson & The Olympians"..... would that be enjoyable for my age or is it geared towards a younger audience. Keep in mind I liked Harry Potter and that was geared towards younger also.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians are a really good series. I'm not 20 but I really enjoyed them. It's about the Greek gods being alive in present day NYC, and how a son of one of them, Percy, must go on different adventures (all based somewhat off of classic Greek adventures) to keep the peace between gods, mortals, and half-bloods. Again, I'm younger than you are, but they are really great books.

Wow, that list is almost identical to what my best friend's would be! I just read the Black Magician Trilogy, which I really enjoyed, though I found the start a little slow.

I haven't really got anything to reccommend, as you've basically mentioned all my favourite fantasy books!

Those books are awesome! I've only read the first book so far but I just bought the second one. I highly recommend that series as well as the Pellinor series
