Alright for those of you who don't know. GIMP version 2.4 was recently released. And they've added a lot of stuff! I'm almost drooling with joy.
But yeah, post what you think about it here and stuffs.

Eh, its a nice version update, some of the filters and such have been nicely improved, and the selection tool is a LOT better. The 'text to path' is also cool. In terms of completely new things, i've not found many, but maybe i'm just old fashioned (well, as old fashioned as a sig aker can get >.>). Though the UI is also slightly better.
Better than GIMP 2.2, I can't wait for GIMP 3.0.

They renamed the one starburst-or-something-or-the-other thing to a lens flare. Now I know what a lens flare is.

Double post, but its been a few days. The red eye removal tool is fun to use on non eye things. Very interesting effects.

A lens flare is the bane of everything good and true.
Eh, i'm having fun still. I htink the main bonuses are just simply in the fact that each filter and smudge and such have upped in quality.

Mmmnh, I've had it for a bit of a while now. I really like how much faster the startup and scripting runs, they used to take forever. The new look is quite fitting too, the little icons, even old Wilbur look a bit more professional. At first, I could not stand how the 'OK' and 'CANCEL' buttons were switched around, drove me nuts when I kept hitting cancel out of memory
That and, is it just me, or did the flame rendering just get a whole lot slower? o.O

back and possibly better than ever? It's been a while.

Wow, I just checked out GIMP on the internet... it seems great! But surely photoshop is better, I mean, its so much more expensive (wait I don't even think you have to pay for GIMP
). Is it better?
I would say it is. But thats just me, I'd check out this topic for some actual arguments and stuffs, its a debatable thing. However, I think most of us are in agreement that GIMP is better on the basis that its free and it can still do almost as much as PS.
