Okay, after much help from Theb, I finally have figured out how to get my pictures up here. Unfortunately, they are only links, so I hope this works. I apologize if they don't.

This is of a dragon which took much longer than it should have taken. The top left one took at least an hour, and the one underneath took about fifteen minutes. The other on the top right is just a little sketch.

Dragons

I'll put up more later as soon as my printer decides to be nice again. I'd appreciate some advice on anything. Thanks for looking! *Crosses fingers and hopes this drawing looks as good as I think it does*

Okay, I got the printer to cooperate now, so I can put up another picture. This one is of a bird that started out as an eagle, but the beak is too short. So now its just a bird. I think everything else looks pretty nice though. I'm pretty satisfied with it.

Eagle....Er, bird that is.

Pretty nice! The dragon that took you an hour obviously looks the best. I am jealous of your ability to shade in pencil. I think the necks of the dragons could use some work, though. I usually like to draw them shorter, because it's easier to get a taper from shoulders to head. I think it would also be nice to see a whole dragon.

As for the eagle, I agree about the beak. It would be an excellent drawing otherwise. XP

And I was glad to help as much as I could.

...*sucks Pixel's artistic ability from her brain*

Very nice. And the bird could be a hawk or falcon. They usually have smaller beaks than eagles.

Thanks for the comments!

Theb -

I got pretty lazy after I drew the heads, can you tell? Maybe I'll draw a whole dragon sometime. But I see them so much. I need something different...Perhaps a three headed one? With six legs? *Laughs Maniacally* I might actually do that, omitting the six legs though. awesome-old.gif

And by the way, I'm jealous of your ability to color. I guarantee that if I colored that you would all run away in terror. Hah.

MajorJefforson -

*Slumps onto desk as I am brainwashed* Hah. Anyways, I've seen hawks, and I suppose it does look like one. Better to call it a hawk rather than a failed attempt at an eagle.

I suppose I should put more up, so I dug up this picture of a horse...thing. Honestly, I can't stand drawing horses. It's very hard for me, and this is where I fail at art. The tail was supposed to look like it was composed of only bones.

Horse-like creature Hah.

Can anyone guess what movie I got the idea for that tail from? Hint - Its also a book series.

XD Yeah, I know the feeling.

As for the horse, it's excellent. The only thing I can see is that the top of the head is turned slightly away, but it isn't reflected in the jawline. If the horse's head is turned away, you should be able to see the bottom of it's jaw. Other than that, it's a fantastic drawing.

And I have no idea where the tail is from.

I would hazard a guess at Harry Potter, but if that's not it, no idea. The horse looks pretty good, though; I agree, horses are hard to draw, but it's really satisfying when you get it right. You've done pretty well (I think his legs are a bit long but, meh), especially with the head shape, and the shading is pretty good. As for the tail, try to shade it a bit more and make the bone less...consistent, in a way. They all look like symmetrical copies of each other. Still, it looks good.

I'd like to see some more works. ).gif

Thanks for all the comments. They mean a lot.

Theb -

I fixed the jaw line...Or at least I think its fixed. I'll try and put it up soon.

LadyKate -

Yup, definitely Harry Potter. I couldn't find a good picture of a thestral, so I found a model of one and drew it from there. I was going to add wings, but decided against it. The bones pretty much are copies of one another, and it got very annoying drawing them. And if anyone was wondering, that's a chain hanging from the tail. Don't know exactly why I added it, but I felt like drawing a chain. Yup...

Well, guess I'll try and update again soon. Since I just started this topic, I have a lot to add for the time being.

And again, thanks for all the positive comments and advice!

Okay, I've got something new here. A hand...Yup. Thats all. I think you'll understand when you see it.

This took much longer than normal. Two to three hours maybe? I used some tutorials for help too. And also, I think the right hand turned out much better. Hands are harder than I thought. Hah. Hope everyone likes it.

Hands

I'll take any advice given, as every artist needs it, correct?

Heh, yeah, hands are pretty much the bane of my artistic existence. So many joints and weird positions they can get into. Rargh. You've done very well with the shading and the foreshortening, though; certainly better than I could have done. My one critique is that the area between the thumb and the index finger on the left hand seems too big. That's all though--great work!

It kinda reminds me of the Sistine Chapel cieling. XP Great job, I suck at hands. And usually shading, too.

Yeah, it is too big, now that I can sit back and look at it. I was working on that area a lot, so at least it looks better than it did before. Just imagine if I showed you all the sketch of this...*shudders*

That's because it is from the Sistine Chapel. Hehe. I was going to add the rest of the painting lightly in the background, but decided against it. It was too...Ahem...Hard. Yep, Too much for me. I wish I could see the Sistine Chapel. That would be inspiring, wouldn't it?

Oh, and would you like to know the secret behind how I shade? Well, maybe other people do this too, but who knows. I rub my hand across the paper to smudge it a little. Usually, the oil on a persons hand is enough. But if not, I'm forced to lick my thumb. How sanitary...But at least I wash my hands before I do, right?

Really? Whose hands?

It's very good.

unconquerableflame -

Thanks, I hope to see some of your artwork sometime too. I should actually go look to see if you have a topic with your art before I say that, but ah well, I can do that after this.

Scarlett -

I'm not positive, but I am convinced that the hands were of God's and Man's. I think it was of God sitting on a cloud surrounded by angels, and he was reaching out to a man on another cloud. I suppose the man represented man kind.

And thank you for the comments, again. I really love hearing that everyone likes it. Does that make me self absorbed? Who knows. Hah.

This is a new update of mine, but not very impressive. Also, please don't laugh at me if I don't even manage to get the picture up, since I always seem to have a little trouble, but I think it'll work.

Tree art

The inspiration for this drawing came from a small (And very odd) tree/plant. I really can't tell what it is, but its very cool. It doesn't look like what I drew, but you could say its similar. In reality, the trunk really consists of three trunks that wrap around each other and then near the top they branch out and have some leaves, which are, in general, the same shape as the ones in my drawing.

The right side of the picture got cut off while scanning, but your not missing much, just some mountains in the background. This entire picture was just some practice since I haven't been drawing for a while. I can never just get up and automatically make pieces of art that are all that great, so I always start with something thats not living, and easy. And I end up wit a tree, how impressive. Haha.

Edit - Darn, it didn't work, and I was so sure it would. Let me try to get this right, sorry everyone.
Edit #2 - Okay, I've got it up in a link, thats the best I can do.
