I don't think he's dumb, I just don't like him. One of my favorite parts in Eldest was when Eragon owned him.

That arrogant elf, Vanir, I think it was. Who insults a guys with a dragon standing right next to them.

That's why I liked him! In general I hate the elves, but that Vanir guy has balls! clap.gif

If I were Eragon after the transformation I would have gone to the sparring grounds when Vanir was hanging out with all of his friends... Then I would have open hand slapped him around until he had a busted up face all over. It wasn't that Vanir had balls, it's the fact that his little wench ass was jealous Saphira didn't hatch for him and he's narcissistic.

I'd humble him into a wheel chair for the rest of his days, along with a spider monkey whose only purpose is to do every day task for him because he wouldn't be able to move from the neck down.

Then after I got away with it all I seduce his mother.

If you can't tell Vanir is at the top of my list.

Impressive! lol.gif

You're absolutely rigtht, he was jelous and narcisssistic! But, IMO he also had balls. I don't know why I liked him, maybe because he humiliated Eragon, and I like Eragon almost as much, as you like Vanir. lol.gif
Oh, and one more thing. I'm too lazy to look it up, so I'm not sure, but as far as I can remember, Vanir apologized to Eragon, when Eragon finally managed to defeat him. From a person who is as arrogant as Vanir, I think this is kind of a big deal, or at least improvement...

The villagers from Carvahall except Roran, and maybe Eragon to a certain degree. He is getting way too much help.
Du Fyrn Skulblaka A detailed story about the war which had taken place before the Riders even existed. This fanfic follows the efforts of the elves to put an end to this war, as well as the struggle of the dragons in an interesting dragon POV. Comments and critiques are much appreciated.

I think it is Vanir, it isn't that hes dumb. Hes completly arrogant and acts like an ass when he is sparring against Eragon until Eragon defeats him after his transformation.

Why are so many people saying that the villagers from Carvahall are dumb? They were saving their skins!

Orrin seems dumb, although the guy can stand up for himself. And I mean dumb only in terms of Nasuada getting the better of him. He's a Science-brain and that ROCKS thumbsup.gif Even think he'll discover something of significance in book 4! yes.gif

The dumbest thing is not actually a person. It is, however, something many of you have mentioned in your posts. I am referring, of course, to the utterly destroyed relationship between Eragon and Arya. Paolini wrote it so that neither time Eragon approached Arya can technically be pinned on him, but that doesn't make this any less annoying. I'm looking forward to seeing the loophole Paolini left himself for getting them together, and I sure hope that Eragon's affections are not just saved because Arya suddenly realizes she likes him. This may be necessary, but it had better not be all. Eragon's got to work for it, and it would have been better without the Ellesmera scenes. I almost hate myself for this, but I'm one of the people who would like to have them together. But, as I said, that's mostly because I want to see that loophole.

Roran.

He loves a person simply because of smiles.

We have the smartest so why not make fun of the stupid ones. I have to say that Eragon is right up there.

Eragon may not be the brightest bulb on the porch, but he's not that stupid really. Some of the villagers from Carvahall on the other hand.... Such as Loring. A quote from Eldest:"Barges? We don't want no stinking barges!" Two things I noticed were:
1. Bad grammar(double negative)

2. Complete thoughtlessness! There aren't any other ships BIG enough, guys. If you want to travel in comfort, that's fine, maybe the Lethrblaka have comfortable saddles.
Read and review my story, Light and Dark

Relationship Wise - Eragon. He is so clueless sometimes!!

Sloan - His thoughts: Lets challenge a fight with the cousin of a possible rider. There are rumors. Lets pretend its all make-believe and I can go and whine about how Roran took away my daughter and I lost my wife. Oh, I have an idea, lets betray the village to foul creatures who are obviously going to stab me in the back... I don't think he's too brilliant, personally ).gif

I can't decide if Vanir is stupid, arrogant, or just angry because Saphira didn't choose him. I guess he's all three, so he's on my list.

Not Christopher Paloni. He's got a great imagination, and his books are far better written that a lot of the other books released recently. He also graduated high school at 15.

Most of the Forswarn. They didn't realize they were going against other dragon riders, and died because of it.

Some urgals - not all. Only the ones who like challenging people just because they want to fight them (and lose, then whine about it).
I was on TT from Random War. Now I'm on TTF. Still... GO LONERISM!!

I honestly don't see why you guys hate Vanir so much... What he said was true, Eragon is pathetic, if he couldn't beat a elf 1 on 1 how could he manage to beat Galby + his dragon?

...But then of course he got transformed into a supar speshul awsom elf!11!
