Prologue
The Girl from Uryuu's Past
Two children walked the streets.
One of them was a boy, he had hair that went straight down on boths sides, that was a deep black. He wore glasses that he kept fiddling with, and blue eyes that looked out from above them. He was wearing white- with the Quincy symbol coming straight down over the front, with matching pants, he looked completely different from the girl beside him.
The girl had long dark brown hair, she had most of it on one side, in a long ponytail tied in a sleek white ribbon. The rest was tied in a much smaller one, tied in a silver ribbon. She wore a simple rose shirt, with white pants. She had light blue eyes that looked out at the boy with a child-like happiness.
They looked as if they were around ten years old, maybe nine.
" Uryuu, so you really can make the bow now? ", she whispered in amazement, " Can you shoot arrows yet? "
Uryuu looked at her with a grin spread across his face, " Uh-huh, but the arrows are so hard to create I wonder if I'll ever get them right... "
The grin had vanished just like that, but there was still a smile on his face from looking at her.
" You'll get it one day Uryuu! ", she brought her arm over his shoulder, " Just keep practicing! Your sensei will teach you for sure! "
Uryuu blushed, his pale skin going rose red as he felt her arm on his shoulder. He looked away, to the side of the street, unwilling to look at her directly.
There was howling in the distance, a deep howling, a screech that pierced their ears and replaced their faces with shock.
" A hollow... ", Uryuu said softly, pulling the girl close to his chest in a swift motion, " I promise not to let it get you Saku. "
Saku looked up at his face, fear reflected in her misty eyes, and Uryuu felt her trembling against him. Uryuu didn't really know what to do, but then, he grabbed her arm and started to run, and he made sure than Saku was in fron't of him. The howling didn't get much louder, and they had ran to the forest, where Uryuu often trained with his sensei.
More howling.
Uryuu and Saku had run into an old man. He had an elderly expression, and had wrinkles all over his face. He wore a red-brown scarf over himself, it was very thick and appeared to be from a different time. The one thing that seemed to most differ about him, were the soft, gentle eyes.
" A-a Hollow, " Uryuu breathed out in gasps, his own legs shaking with fear now, " We didn't know what to do Sensei! "
It came closer.
The old man looked out to the distance, where the howling was coming from, and said, " Uryuu, take Saku and hide in the bushes. "
Closer.
Uryuu grabbed Saku's hand and scurried to the bushes, and carefully went in with her. The two children peered out from a gap.
You could see the Hollow now.
It wasn't just one Hollow, but five, they all seemed to look the same to Uryuu, but anyone trained with the eye could see that the bodies were different. The mask was a pure bone white, with what seemed like blood-stains over the eye-holes. They all ran towards the old man at once, and surrounded him.
The old man shot arrows of Spirit Particles but they didn't seem to graze them.
And then an arm shot out towards the bushes, grabbing a screaming Saku.
Uryuu didn't have time to react before she was abducted, all he could do was stare from the bushes in horror. The old man reacted with an arrow, severing the hand, and the girl inside it's grasp. She stuttered up.
" I thought you promised that you wouldn't let them get me Uryuu... ", she coughed up blood, " You... promised me... "
There was a pool of blood where she stood, and Uryuu wanted to go to her, but he couldn't, it happened too suddenly. She disappeared.

5 Years Later: Karakura High School
Uryuu sighed as he sat down for class, a normal look on his face, everything was going as it usually did- well unless a Hollow attacked- which was normal as well, you could say. It seemed to take forever for school to end, and not once did the sad memory of her cross his mind, not once. The memory had dimmed now- all of the memories- she was forgotten- that day, and everything that had happened, didn't seem to exist anymore.
