Okay, on the picture at the top right of this guys page. How do you make that reflection looking thing that is on the top half of his picture?

Use the elliptical marquee tool to create a big oval selection, fill it with white and lower the opacity. There are other ways which produce a better result but that is the easiest method.

If you'd like another simple way, grab a large circular default bursh, set the hardness to 0% and the opacity to 40% odd. Brush on a new layer and it should work.
