It would look a lot better in colour, I think. Maybe erase some effects around his head too. Also, the text and border colour doesn't fit in, try changing it. Maybe fill up the emptiness a bit more too. Still nice job, I like the effects.

It was hard to color when everything was in B&W. I'll try what was said and post 'em.

^I think it looks great in B&W! In this case, I think the empty space actually adds to the style. Great choice of effects. Very nice job. Try making the text/border color darker.

I agree with fastflame304 for the most part. The B&W looks fine here, I think. The text looks alright too to me, but the border just doesn't work (imo). I would say do an old school type tech bar to the left to fit the text in (Yellow text, or otherwise. I think changing the color may give the tag too much of a monotonous appearance as a whole.) I would say my biggest beef here, and really the only real problem I see is the boarder. If nothing else, overlap it with a 2px yellow with a 1 pix white/grey/green-green/blue-grey/black. lol Last of all, I think Indian Spiced might be right about cutting down on the effects around the head. Maybe even just give it a faded effect (low opancity, or a lightening (as in lighter, not lightening as in thunder) gradient?). I dunno, just some thoughts. I hope that helps.


EDIT: Oh, just missed your new post. I'd say that, yeah, I think I was right about giving it a more monotonous effect. I liked the text being a different color, but maybe not yellow. The boarder just didn't work for me (and still doesn't) at all, however.
