Okay, so I'm in the process of writing a book. I'm about four chapters in...and still haven't thought of a title.

The book is about a boy named Gerard. He's lived with Richard and Ethel Atkinson, two people he thought were his parents. He finds out that they aren't, they're actually his grandparents. Gerard discovers that his real parents were criminals running from the law in Europe. Shortly after having him, they were caught and killed by Interpol before his very eyes. Now he must go and rediscover himself, for he now knows less about himself than a mere stranger would.

I thought about "Lost", but that seemed a little drab.

Any suggestions?

Hmm, Reminiscence would be an appropriate title.

Meh, it'll come. Don't be too eager to find a title for something. My first book was done end-to-end before I had a title for it, and my most recent one took eleven chapters before I did. =/

Give it time ^^

When reading your synopsis of your story several names popped to mind:
Discover/Discovery
Identify/Identified
Self
Sanctuary

How about "Crime's Child"? Of course, its all up to you what your title should be. : )

Like Ben said, titles will come to you. It's fine if you don't have one right off the bat. Most people don't. I almost never do. Titles are usually the last thing I tihnk about when I'm starting a new book. For the longest time, my latest novel was just called "Swords & Stuff". Now that I'm on chapter ten, I've come up with a good title that I hope is catchy and fits with the novel--"Sun Fire".

That title sounded really fitting, and intriguing to me. But again, it is your choice.

Ahaha, something just happened that I thought would amuse the thread starter. I just realized a title I'd been using for a story I've been working on for four years is no longer applicable because of the themes. If anything, that's proof that even titles are works in progress =)

Still? Only four chapters in? Just write, and see what happens. Eventually a title will become obvious, or at least a bit clearer.

Although yeah, 'Crime's Child' is a rather good idea.

Criminal Renaissance sounds like a title that would fit.
Play me off, Keyboard Cat.
