The old Twilight topic was so long and kept veering off topic or recycling old conversations, so here's a new one in which to talk about the books (not the movies), be you a fanatic or critic.

I love all of the Twilight Saga. Eclipse was probably my favourite, then Twilight itself, Breaking Dawn, and New Moon (well, the chapters that are available of Midnight Sun are probably my favourite: you can find them at www.stepheniemeyer.com). I love all the blonde jokes in Breaking Dawn - I'm a blonde myself, but I can't help but laugh at things that are funny, even those directed at me. I thought the whole series was brilliant.

My least favourite character is Jane, closely followed by Jacob Black. I hate that kid.

Aw. Jane's a cool little villain. And why do you hate Jake? Apart from the infant-imprinting, I thought he was one of the few likable characters in the whole saga.
So, your character is angsting. It seems that his dog just died in a freak accident. That accident involved his kindly uncle, who didn't swerve in time to avoid the poor puppy. However, he did swerve in time to go off an embankment and hit a bus full of high school students including your character's girlfriend who'd just said yes to being taken to the dance. Unfortunately, the shock of the news caused the protagonist's kindly old mother to have a heart attack, which left his father without any will to live. So daddy hung himself and... Wait, what? Isn't this a little overboard? -TV Tropes for Deus Angst Machina

Because Jacob threatened Edward's position as Bella's "love interest".

I love Jane, she's so cool. In Breaking Dawn I got pissed of at Jasper and how he couldn't accept that Bella wasn't obsessed with blood, very annoying.
Real LOTR fans know it's not actually a trilogy.

Totally agree with this post. I hated Jacob. I found that he got really annoying. Midnight Sun is definetly my favourite, very glad she's planning on releasing a completed version. Eclipse was also my favourite, then Breaking Dawn, Twilight and New Moon.

I think that Jasper should have gotten killed in Eclipse. It would have been hilarious. Does anybody know what alice would have done? I don't have a clue.

Jane seemed awseome. She was cruel, horrifyling, and so incredibly awsome.

GAAH! I KEEEL YOU! p.gif

Nuu, if Jaspie got killed in Eclipse I'd buy a bunch of copies and burn them. I mean, Alice would go crazy. And Alice is the only character worth saving. (Ok, not the only one, but still. heheh.)

I was just wondering what would happen. I mean, with no Jasper to control the mood, wouldn't alot of people go crazy?

You really think Jasper has that much control over the Cullen family's emotions? Hm. That's actually an interesting idea.

Reneesme needs to die. Her name is hard enough memorize and pronouce as it is, but SM just has to go and make her even more of a Sue than her father is.

And I don't like Bella. Or Jacob for a matter of fact. Actually I really, really do not like them. Carlisle and Esme's personalities get irritating after a while. Rosalie made me want to strangle her in Breaking Dawn. And Edward...? Please don't get me started on him.

The only characters I actually like (as oppose to just having neutral feelings towards them) enough to consider them as my favorite characters are Alice (who doesn't love/hate that quirky pixie?) and Emmett. Jane, James, Seth, and Jasper come in pretty close seconds though. And Felix deserves some mention because he is awesome for the "Dibs" statement and I love him for that.

And I think Bella/James would have been the freakin' best pairing ever.

But the entire series together...? For some reason, I hooked and just can't get away from it, even though I hate it at the same time.

That really captures the scope and tragedy of it. The only thing I have to add is that Bella is a huge Sue too. Even from the first book, she's a Sue because every single fricking person wants to be her friend, wants to be with her, or wants to eat her. Not to mention she had flaws, except for her clumsiness, which isn't a flaw because she's only clumsy when the plot requires her to be and everyone finds it endearing. Then, when Breaking Dawn comes along, what do we get but Bella the Perfect Newborn? Not only does she have all the advantages of being a vampire as well as a newborn one, but she has none of the weaknesses. She doesn't succumb to blood lust--ever. Even worse, she manages to control it right away, and she can still feel very strongly towards Edward, which isn't how being a newborn is supposed to work. And have I mentioned whom she looks like? According to SMeyer's website, she is:
"very fair-skinned, with long, straight, dark brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. Her face is heart-shaped—a wide forehead with a widow's peak, large, wide-spaced eyes, prominent cheekbones, and then a thin nose and a narrow jaw with a pointed chin. Her lips are a little out of proportion, a bit too full for her jaw line. Her eyebrows are darker than her hair and more straight than they are arched. She's five foot four inches tall, slender but not at all muscular, and weighs about 115 pounds. She has stubby fingernails because she has a nervous habit of biting them."
Just look at my avatar to see the resemblance between Bella and SMeyer.

You just ruined my day, I kept imagining Bella as Kristen Stewart. At least that kept me happy.

Most of the characters in Twilight are way too perfect with Edward and Bella leading the pack. Jacob is the only character with any personality. I really enjoyed his POV in comparison to endless pages of Bella talking about Edwards perfection.

Why are Windows Vista users the only ones who can relate to Transformers?

Because it's all about machines causing trouble!!

Maybe you held out hope for fans of the series.

And in response to your previous post, sues are most commonly the same race and gender as the author. At least in Romeo and Juliet, they both died due to serious character flaws. Romeo was a serious creeper >.>

I still find it very strange that Jacob "imprinted" on the child of his former love interest.
