Epilogue

There are so many different realms that link to Earth. Some realms consist of strange climates and strange races, and some arent too much different from Earth. This story is about the realm of Elementra. About a hundred years from the time this story is set, an Elementran scientist found a way to travel from Elementra to Earth. None used it much as there was a major war going on. The war that gave Elementra its name. The scientist created poles in the Elementran world that went to an area of the human world. These were only visible to Elementrans, to stop humans just wandering in.

Seventeen years from when this story is set. An Elementran named Drake Pravus started to plot against the king, he recruited an army and gained the trust of almost every Elementran. Though his army was rather large it was still hopeless of his plan succeeding at that time. He needed a larger army, he decided to send one of his soldiers to Earth, there he would see whether the humans were "worthy" to be in his army. The Elementran reported to Drake that humans were definitely not worthy, they were too primitive compared to them. Drake then asked for him to come back, the Elementran refused... He had fallen in love. This news angered Drake, for the reason, he didn't want his soldier to be with someone of such weak status and the Elementran was his strongest soldier. Drake sent a group of his of his soldiers into Earth to kill the traitor and his partner. Ten months later one of the soldiers Drake sent came to him and explained that everyone else had died in the battle but the traitor and his partner were dead.

Now, Seventeen years later, Drake has found reports that the traitors partner had given birth to a child not long before she was killed and she somehow managed to hide the kid away from them and put her up for adoption. It turns out that this kid has all the powers of an Elementran but also has no limit to the energy it uses. Drake sends someone to find the kid and take it to him so it can join the army, this soldier would certainly improve Drakes chances of the plan succeeding.

However, there is a group of Elementrans that know about Drakes plans and wish to stop him. They have also heard the news about the half-breed and have sent someone to go and find the kid. Now it is a race against the two groups to get this new breed of Elementran, whichever gets there first doesn't matter, for the fate of Elementra is now inevitably going to change.

Chapter 1 - The Freak

A gunshot awoke Nikki from her slumber as she heard several screams. She quickly got out of bed and put her slippers on. She travelled downstairs and opened her front door to see her Mum bent over next to her Dad. Her Dad was bleeding, her body refused to let her move as she realised her Dad had been shot in the heart. This is the nightmare that has been haunting Nikki's dreams for the past month, the nightmare that she had once actually lived.

The annoying reoccurring screech that came from Nikkis alarm clock forced her to slam her hand on it, almost causing it to break. The noise stopped, and Nikki sat upright on her bed so she faced the mirror. She had long light brown hair that shone in the sunlight making it almost the same colour and deep blue eyes. She was reasonably tall for her age of 16. She got dressed and went downstairs. She made her breakfast and sat at the table. Her Mum was at the opposite end of the table with several sheets of paper in front of her that she occasionally would scribble upon. They didn't speak, they hardly ever did, even before Nikkis Dad died. It upset Nikki but she could never seem to find out why. As she swallowed the last of her cereal she said.

"Im going to school today Mum." It was an obvious statement but she just wanted conversation with her Mum. Her Mum just grunted in response. Nikki gave up and walked upstairs to brush her teeth, then she set off for school. She didn't live very far from the school, it took about 10 minutes. Her school day went as normal, slow and lonely, she had no friends at her school. She had a wierd thing where when she got mad fire would erupt from her and normally set the room on fire. Noone picks on her to her face because they are scared, behind her back, she has heard them call her a freak. This doesn't bother her, it is what she considers herself. Why her? She would occasionaly ask herself. Is there anyone else in this world that has such an abnormal feat. Even the teachers are scared of her, she avoids asking and answering questions and just gets on with her education.

After school she went home and got changed from her stupidly-smart uniform, into her casual clothes. She always went for a walk after school, she only did homework on weekends. There wasnt much to do at home, nothing on TV most of the time and her Mum hardly spoke. It never used to be so lonely, her Dad used to take her out almost all the time, he didnt care about her being a freak. Everyone else does. But now he is gone and she is lonely in this world.

It was that time of the year where the the afternoon was really dark, darker than usual. Most kids weren't allowed out, there parents wouldn't let them... She wandered around town for a while, looking around at all the shops that begged for people to come inside with their bright lights that could be seen for miles if the streets werent so cramped together. She sat on a bench outside a fish and chip shop, she did what she usually did, looked up at the sky and spoke with her Dad, in her head of course, everyone in the town already considered her a freak.

She then hoped that something, anything would take her somewhere different, where she wasn't lonely, where she wasn't a freak. She hoped she would eventually find out how and why fire would be summoned when she lost her temper. She couldn't take much more of her lonely life, it was too much. Suddenly she saw a boy stood a fair distance from her, he looked about the same age as Nikki. She had never seen him before in this town, he looked lost. She got up ready to help but when she looked, he was gone.

"Where has he gone? I swear he was stood there a minute ago." She thought. He was there a second ago...It was definitely no illusion as he was casting a shadow. Nikki began to walk back home. "Maybe i was just seeing things. Maybe all this loneliness is getting to my head." She considered. When she got home her dinner was ready and she ate it at the table, her Mum doing the usual writing numbers on a piece of paper whilst occaisonaly using her calculator. After dinner she went in the shower, brushed her teeth, got dressed into her night clothes and went to bed. It was hard for her getting to bed as she had so much on her mind. She couldn't stop thinking about the person she had seen in town. Or hadn't seen possibly, it took about half an hour before she was fast asleep though. Oblivious to what was going on, how important she really was. How she wouldn't be lonely soon. Very soon.

Um . .. is this an IF story?

Anyway, it's pretty good, but sometimes you use the same sentence structure over and over again, or use a bunch of short sentences in a row, that could be combined to flow more.

Also this part:

I actually missed the whole fire thing the first time I scanned through it, the way it's written doesn't give it much emphasis, and it doesn't really fit with the paragraph.
