Humor in books Some books pull it off, some don't . . .

I'm putting the Bartimaeus Trilogy at the top of that list.
Personally, I don't like books that are meant to be comedies ("This zany tale will keep you guffawing to the end!" in the summary), because those often turn out to be cheesy and plot-weak, but those can be good too.

No matter how hard horses, cowgirls, or Vince's bunnies try to stop them.

Get Fuzzy!! If we're going into comics then I must confess to an addiction to old Dilberts. The newer ones stink in both art and jokes, but the old ones were great.

Harry Potter could be pretty funny at times, I give it that.

I just looked that one up, and wow has Darby's style changed or what?? I have a book with his older comics in it, so Bucky looks all weird to me.

Bucky's gotten kinda skinnier, and Rob looks reaaaaally different.

DX I barely recognize them!
Oh well. Bucky is Bucky.
On the Barti Trilogy, yep. Bartimaeus is definitely the over-King of sarcasm. He wields it wonderfully, no?

As for hilarious books, try Ranger's Apprentice and Harry Potter. Although, I laugh at almost anything that's remotely funny, so I'm not a very reliable judge.
