Saphira's future mate, There actually weren't any threads on this... Options

What I've heard people saying around here is that Thorn will be Saphira's mate. It's possible, but I don't really think it will happen. I know that Thorn is not evil and that he'll be a good dragon if he gets free of Galbatorix's power, but I still don't feel like Saphira would really love him after the two of them battled each other and tried to injure each other, and he may have killed Glaedr (the text doesn't make it exactly clear). People say that the green dragon is too young to be Saphira's mate, but remember that in human years Saphira is very young. They don't have to get together right away, a while can pass so that the green one gets older. If you look at Saphira a few months into Eragon and compare her to Saphira at the end of Brisingr, her personality doesn't change much. By the end of Book 4 I think the green one will be old enough to fall in love with her.

And, of course, you can also say that there are a few more dragons either hiding somewhere or in living a land outside Alagaesia. That's possible too, but it seems less likely. I don't think there are any more inside Alagaesia (Galbatorix killed 'em all), and I don't think Eragon and Saphira will leave Alagaesia until the end of the story. Thoughts?

Yea he may be at a mentally young age, but he could also be very wise. Dragons are usually like that, but I guess we cannot know since we have no idea what's going trough Thorn's head.
I, for one, would like if Saphira will chose Thorn as a mate because they would make a pretty interesting couple, after all that fighting and rivalry to become closer to each other.

If he was very wise, Saphira wouldn't be calling him "Stunted-Thoughts" though. We might not have seen into his head, but she has, and it seems to match up with him still be younger and naive than he appears.

You are right but I don't remember her speaking to him or something like that. Probably she called him that way because she noticed that he was somehow confused about this whole situation, and she only assumed that.
