Prologue
Gil-galad stood, and looked down at the port known as the Gray Havens. He was worried, because it had been quite sometime since he had been contacted by his friends and war allies, the Numenoreans. They lived in Andor, or the land of Gift, or, in the Elven language, Numenore. It was an island located near to Valinor, where the Elves of Middle-earth went when they grew tired of the normal world. However, since their lastest king, Ar-Pharazon, had taken power, they had barely contacted his folk, who lived in the wide and fair country of Lindon.
Gil-Galad, the High King of the Noldor in Middle-earth, controlled all lands from the western shores of the Great Sea, to the Tower Hills in Eriador, an enormous land west of the Misty Mountains, the largest mountain in Middle-earth. Gil-gald's kingdom contanied the final exiles of the Noldor, a clan of Elves that had fled from Valinor when their most sacred jewels, the Silmarills, were stolen. Many had died in the attempt to regain the jewels, and many more had returned to Valinor at the end of the war. Gil-galad, however, had elected to stay in Middle-earth, because his people, the Noldorin elves, had no other leader. His chief vassal, and heir, Elrond, had founded a refuge for the elves who dwelled in Eriador. It was named Imladris in Elvish, and men called it Rivendell, though few besides the Faithful Numenoreans had seen it.
The reson Gil-galad was worried avout the Numenoreans was that he had heard no word from them since Ar-Pharazon took Suaron prisoner. He was thinking of even going there himself, and leaving the rule of his kingdom to Elrond for a few years, to deal with Sauron. He (Gil-Galad) did not for sure what the Numenoreans had done with Sauron, but he had not been put to death, of that, he was sure. Yes,thought Gil-galad, I will bring the peace back to the Men of Numenor. "Gildor! Ready my ship for departure!"
As Gil-galad took the first step towards his personal ship, Arnor, he stumbled, as an unseen force propelled him to the ground. Next, there was a big BOOM! and the ground vibrated. From far in the west, he heard trumpet sounds, the yells of dying men, and saw something that resembled a great waterfall. Then, there was darkness. Just as vision faded, Gil-gald saw, in the west, a man. It looked as if he was standing upon the coulds. His right hand was upraised, as if he directing music, and his left hand clasped an enormous brown staff. Blackness claimed Gil-galad's brain, and he fell unconscious.
Come on, I want some feedback. I've waited a while to do this!
