Prologue
"Radagast was right." Gandalf said as he sat on the Eagles back. The Eagle carrying Gandalf was the son of the lord of the Eagles Ghaihir. His name was Rohimber the Eagle prince of mMiddle-earth. He had been assigned by his father to look after and protect Gandalf when he was asked to travel to Alagaesia.
The pair had traveled for an entire week, for after the Valar asked him to aid another world outside of Middle-earth Gandalf had to leave with great haste. In order to get to this world to help it before it was too late to save the land from evil and darkness. Gandalf had been told by Radagast, his fellow wizard that in order to help save the world of alegaisha he would need more power. Radaghast then decided to performed a spell that combined both Gandalf's and Radagast's powers.
Upon seeing the chaos of the world, Gandalf new that he would need all the power he could use to help save Alagaesia. Rhohimber was now flying near a small forest near the city of Feinster.
"Set me down in that clearing over there Rhohimber." Gandalf said. the Eagle circled the clearing before landing with a small pop. "thank you Rohimber prince of Eagles. Now go and find a place to rest untill i call for you, you've earned a good nights sleep." The Eagle said good bye before flying off to find a suitable resting spot.
Gandalf new that the Dragon Rider would have heard the noise, and would be here shortly. he stood there and waited , laughing at the prospect of seeing another Dragon.
Chapter 1
Eragon awoke with a start. Hmm.. I heard something strange just now. Eragon said to Saphira what do you think it is? She replied tiredly. I don't know but lets find out.
Saphira huffed in response. Eragon saddled Saphira and they left camp twoards a faint Laughter in the woods nearby Feinster. They flew over a clearing in the woods, and Eragon saw an old man dressed in white. He held a white staff and leaned on it heavily. Eragon and Saphira landed, the old man looked at them and said,"Hello Eragon Bromsson and Saphira Brightscales." Eragon stared at the man in utter distraught. "I am Gandalf the White, and have been sent by a higher power to aid you in your battle against Galbatorix." Gandalf looked at Eragon, who could find nothing to say. The man promptly turned around and set off toward the Varden's camp without a word. Eragon and saphira followed, Eragon sensed no apparent danger and was doubtful the man could cause much harm.
Once Gandalf got out of the woods, he turned around and spoke once again to Eragon, "Could you take me to Nasuada's tent? I seem to have forgot the way." Gandalf said in a nice way. Eragon then decided to pry into the mans mind. His attempt was futile, for he flicked eragon away with a simple thought. Saphira, should we take him to Nasuada? Eragon asked her. I think we should but keep an eye on him anyways. She replied. Eragon nodded at her and said, "Come i will take you to Nasuada. But beware, for any false move and i will kill you." Eragon said, but it seemed to have no effect what so ever on Gandalf. Eragon sighed, and began walking towards Nasuada's tent.
When Eragon arrived at the tent the guards saw Gandalf and one said, "Who is this person?" before Eragon could answer, Gandalf taped the ground with his staff and the guard said, "Never mind proceed." Eragon went in with Gandalf, Saphira snaking her head in behind. Nasuada looked at Eragon saw Gandalf, and anger swept her face. She then said, "Who is this fool to come into the camp without my knowing? And Eragon why would you take him to me without my consent?" Nasuada said angirly. ERagon could not bring himself to words, so Gandalf answered Nasuada first, "I am Gandalf the White. I have been sent from a higher power to aid you in this war against Galbatorix. I am a wizard of a diffrent fashion than yours, and have had more power bestowed upon me than normal for this task." Gandalf said with a smile. Eragon was puzzled by what he meant by a higher power.
What do you think he means by a higher power, Saphira? Eragon asked, I know not little one, but lets listen more before we interupt this man. Gandalf then said, "I am an allie to you and i will swear in your ancient language not to harm anyone part of the Varden, or turn my back and go to Galbatorix." Gandalf then repeated these words in the ancient language. when he was done Nasuada spoke, "I see now that you are a friend Gandalf, however we will disscus more tomorrow. For now i will find you a tent and ensure that you are not bothered." Gandalf thanked Nasuada and left without another word.
Eragon looked at Nasuada and said, "who is this man?", "I don't know Eragon, but i want you to keep a very close eye on him. I want to learn a great deal more from him about this higher power of his. But for now I must sleep for there is much on my mind." Eragon and Saphira said their good byes to Nasuada, he and Saphira left for their tent. They said nothing to each other on the way there.
Once they arrived Eragon unsaddled Saphira, then strode over to his own bed. Eragon lay on his bed for some time before sinking in his dream like state.
