These things are banned? Eh I don't know i'm kind of interested to see how this would turn out especially if we got Ben and Charles. It might turn out to be a crazy writing experience.

From the Rules of This Section:
Plagiarism is not allowed, and all works that you post have to be your own. Do not post links to works outside of IF. That’s considered advertising and isn’t allowed outside the Advertisement Hut.
You are entitled to one thread per story in every section except for the Poetry Café (where you're allowed one thread for all your poetry). All updates should be posted in the original thread created for the story. Make sure you post your stories in the right subforum (what belongs in each subforum is stated under the subforum title).
Note: Stories with multiple authors or "Round-Robins" are allowed to be put up, but while these kinds of collaboration projects are permissible, bickering between authors, spamming, or breaking any of the normal conduct rules for IF will not be tolerated.
Don't people read the rules anymore?
Anyways, I think it might work, if you get a decent plot worked out, and get decent writers. But, since they haven't been allowed until now, due to every single attempt at one being a total flop, I'm not going to guaruntee anything.

No one gets to come in
Pull me out from inside
I am folded, and unfolded, and unfolding
I am colorblind

But seriously--Round Robins didn't work because none of the writers had any plans. If you came up with a set plan, I'm pretty sure the staff would be more open to that sort of thing. I wouldn't be able to contribute to something like this until the summer, but I'd definitely do my best to.
The #1 things to get set would be a structure for writing. Would it be tag-team, or would we alternate, contributing when we felt? And what would back-end communication be like? I've personally always wanted to have a story where the writers are sort of giggling on the side lines, coming up with diabolical plots to write in and all that fun.
So lets come up with a structure, talk to Allison or the writing mods, and lets see where we can get.

I actually wrote the rule governing round robins, so I'll address the point. For this to work it'd really have to be a kind of communal process similar to how TV shows are written. There's a principal writer and then there's the writers' room. So you'd have the writers' room throw up the concepts, certain dialog, certain actions, and then the principal writer would put his voice on it as he writes the chapter.
Obviously, you can set off on a failing round-robin if you so desire. This is now allowed for in the rules. As long as it doesn't spam, have bickering, or break any of the forum rules regarding conduct, you are welcome to write a ridiculous one that's like:
In fact, I'd probably find that amusing.

Alright so I think the way to go about this is have a round robin discussion topic much like this one where we discuss it and get ideas. We get a list of people organize them in a list according to chapter they will write, and keep the discussion topic with the actual topic. I was planning it so we went in blind that means that one person writes chapter 1, then the person who writes chapter 2 takes chapter one and continues the story that the first person set and so on.

Will I be invited to this?

I'm not sure "invited" is the right word because we're not sure how we're gonna organize it yet. When I said "in on it," I meant we're organizing things. We had a blitz discussion over it on Monday, I think, where we fired some ideas around about how. Like Charles said--we'll get to it this summer. All I can really say is that its not exactly going to be your ordinary round robin.
