=( rough lines, I vector, I used to do vector LP/tags a lot back in the day when it was a new thing (beat hishy in a vector battle 15-30 votes xD - act1 R.I.P), anyway bragging aside, I can see the technique you used to get the shade selection on the vexel, my main advice would be to get illustrator, unless your doing straight line vexels e.g c4d, then illustrator is far superior, specially for the smoother lines and curves.
EDIT: I got to say tho, for your first attempt this is amazing, the hair is usually the most annoying stuff, but you did quite a good job on that, better then my first illustration.

Yeah, the rough lines are because of GIMP, I think I'm going to get Illy now.

But seriously, I haven't seen any of your old work, and it's supposed to be great, do you have a link to it anymore?
