A/N: Ok this is my first attempt at a fanfic, so don't judge to harshly. Still want some critique though. Well here is first chapter:

Prologue:(sort of)

“I don’t like him, I can’t like him,” is what I would say to myself throughout the day if my feelings would get rather strong. “He’s dead anyway just let him go.” I finally like someone, but Sin has to take him away. I may have been with Tidus for only a day, but that was enough for my fifteen year old heart to kick in. Yea, I hardly knew the guy, but getting stuck with a bunch of grim older guys, any relief from the torment was welcomed greatly. Or, maybe it was the way he looked me, I’d just melt.

Ever since that night on the ship, when he…disappeared, I had been having the same dream, er, nightmare about what had happened. Always waking up when he fell overboard with a splash, his scream, as well as mine, as he got sucked up into the whirlpool of Sin. When he went down and Sin disappeared we were all shocked. “Did Sin finish his prey?” almost everyone thought that night. We had found Tidus, struggling against a Klikk, with him explaining that he survived a Sin attack one thousand years ago and now was in Spira. Yea, like anyone could be teleported one thousand years into the future much less survive a Sin attack…

Chapter One: Reunited

Today was the day! This was the first time I was going to help stop a summoner from completing her pilgrimage. Not just a summoner either, it was going to be Yunie, my cousin. She was crossing the moonflow on a shoopuf today. I always liked those big animals. Anyway, me and Lyrean were going to protect her today. I haven’t seen her in awhile. “Yna oui nayto?” (Are you ready?) Lyrean asked.
“Oac” I replied, in my usual tone. I got up from the short chair I was sitting in, and almost banged my head on the control panel mounted on the roof of the extractor machine we were in. “Madc ku cyja Yunie!” (Let’s go save Yunie)

“Ymnekrd oui fyed rana. E'mm kad ran, yht pnehk ran pylg.” (Alright you wait here. I'll get her, and bring her back.) Lyrean said as he started for the double hatch door, to go into the water.

“Fryd ys E cibbucat du tu drah?” (What am I supposed to do then?) I replied almost angerly.

“Fyed ihdem E lusa pylg.” (Wait until I come back.) he replied opening one of the hatches.

“Fryd tet oui pnehk sa ymuhk vun drah!?” (What did you bring me along for then?) I shouted at him. He didn’t hear me, as I noticed the hatch was already closed. Now I was alone. We didn’t know when the shoopuf was leaving so I had no clue how long I had to wait. I had the machine on idle so the air control was on. I was a little cold so I turned it up, but that was a mistake. It being warmer, and me waiting wasn’t good. I slowly drifted off into a nap. I had my nightmare again. This time there was more. Instead of waking up when he fell, it switched to a different scene. Tidus’s face appeared. It was showing the heart-melting smile. His deep oceanic blue eyes. Then his face showed pain, and agony, his dead body floating on a sunny beach. With seagulls flying overhead. I then awoke, remembering where I was, and what I had to do, pushing him to the back of my mind. A giant green blob moved in front of the glass. I then realized that it was a shoopuf. “It begins,” I thought. I expertly tapped a few buttons on the control panel in front of me getting the extractor to hold the summoner. Two figures hit the water. “So far so good,” I thought. I hit a few more buttons getting the extractor ready for the escape. The hatch clicked behind me.

“Mad'c ku.” (Let’s go.) Lyrean said. I started hitting the buttons to get the machina moving when Lyrean grabbed my chair, and moved it.

“Fyrd dra?” (What the?) I said in shock. What was going on?

“E lyh'd mad y kenm luhdnum yhleahd machina, silrmacc y ouihk kenm,” (I can't let a girl control ancient machina, much less a young girl.) Lyrean replied.

He had been making me angry the whole time I was with him. He was bearable until now. Now this was out of hand. Before anything could happen two figures appeared. One rather buff and tan guy with what appeared to be a blitzball, but it was the other that surprised me. It was him! Tidus. Many thoughts ran through my head. I got shaken into the real world when Lyrean started shouting at me,

“Nayto dra tabdr lrynkac!” (Ready the depth charges!)

“Dryd femm gemm dras,” (But that will kill them,) I replied.

"Dryd’c dra buehd," (That’s the point) Lyrean responded. I was hating Lyrean more and more. How could you kill someone, when the whole point of the mission is to protect someone from dying? The warning light came on. We were going down. I quickly ran to the hatches. Lyrean was still at the controls.

“Lusa uh!” (Come on) I shouted at him.

“Hajan. E ys cyjehk drec machina.” (Never. I am saving this machina.) The reply I got stunned me. “Good Riddance,” I thought. I ran to the hatch and opened the first one with a hiss. As the first on closed the second opened. A rush of icy water hit my body. The warmth I had in the machina was starting to get drained away, even with my diving suit. I started to swim away when I got pushed from behind. My breath escaped my lungs. I had to get to the surface. I had no time to worry about the exploded machina, or Lyrean. I just needed to get out of the water. I broke the surface of the water, to notice it was sunset. The north shore was closer so I started swimming towards it. As I was swimming my thoughts returned to Tidus. “He’s alive!” Before I knew it I was laying on the road, too exhausted to move. My conciseness was slipping. Before I completely went, I saw a small party walking, and then running towards me. I was out; after that not knowing what was going to happen next...

Oh and if you have a suggestion about a different way to translate the Al Bhed language I would love to hear! More to come if you want it! There will be more dialogue in updates.

Awesome! Not only is this fic written in Rikku's perspective, but you seem to speak Al Bhed fluently as well! That is just plain awesome. I wish I could be that geeky...

A/N: Here is chapter 2. For those few people reading it hope you like it!

Chapter 2: Fireside

I awoke to darkness, but there was a soft glow near my feet. The sound of crickets chirping, and frogs croaking, helped to remember where I was. Or at least thought I was. I figured I was still in the moonflow. I didn’t know, my head was hurting way too much to think too clearly. I reached my hand out to the side to stretch. My hand contacted something flexible, but had a solid feel to it. It was then that I realized I was in a tent. I felt around, and noticed I was wrapped up in a blanket. I was also warm and dry. My diving suit had been removed I still had my normal cloths that I had worn under my diving suit. I was surprised to find my green shorts were dry as normally they take forever to dry. That was due mostly to the fact that they were made for the desert, not water. I sat up, and rubbed my face. I wondered how long I was out. I leaned forward, and moved to sitting on my knees. I poked my head out of the front of the tent.

I was in a small clearing. There was a small fire in the center. Two tents that looked like the one I was in were on the other side of the fire. There was trees behind them, while behind mine was the moonflow. I looked up. It was a clear night, and the stars were all out. They were beautiful. It was a beautiful night. I looked back down at the fire and happened to notice two men lying on blankets near it. It just occurred to me that I was in their tent. I also realized that the bigger one had destroyed the machina with Tidus. His hair gave him away. The other one had his back turned to me so I couldn’t see him. I tried to get up, but tripped over the blanket, and I rolled out into the clearing. To me I could have woken up Brother, who sleeps through all but the strongest sandstorms. He even slept through a fiend attack with alarms going off! I must not have made a lot, because only the guy with his back to me, turned, and now was facing me. Wait, it was Tidus! What was he doing here? Then I remembered he destroyed the machina. Hurt, and then saved by him! Man was he cute. The soft glow of the fire was reflecting off his naked upper body. His tanned skin, bringing out the fires orange glow even more. I sighed. Apparently that was louder then when I tripped, as Tidus’s eyes fluttered open. He saw me and shouted, “Rikku! You’re awake!”

I tried to get up and move towards him, but my legs wouldn’t hold me. I just sat there waiting for whatever was next. The other man near the fire awoke, and started moving towards me, with Tidus. The other man stopped walking and said, “Tidus this is bad news ya?”

“Wakka give it a rest,” Tidus replied. What were they talking about? Why was this bad news? Was I hurt, and couldn’t see it? What was wrong? It was then when I noticed two women walking out of one of the tents on the far side of the clearing. One was in a black dress. Definitely not in my taste, but that was me. The other one looked so familiar, but I couldn’t quite place who, in the dark. She seemed worried, however, and reminded me of someone, but I couldn’t place who. Then she started talking to the women next to her. It was then I realized it was Yuna, my cousin. I could tell by the way she talked. There was so much I wanted to say, but only moans and gasps left my mouth. I had too many thoughts going through my head. I was so tired I didn’t try to move. Tidus continued running towards me while the others remained back. It was when Tidus spoke that it brought me back down to Spira.

“Rikku, you alright?” he asked.

“Oac,” (Yes) I replied.

“Uh, what? Only understand a little Al Bhed.” He had said that part quieter for some reason.

“Oh sorry, Yes, I am well enough anyway.” That was a lie. I felt terrible, and I couldn’t even stand. I felt uncomfortable. Everyone was looking at me. Their gazes tore through me. To make it worse two more men came out of the other tent. Well, one was a man, the other was a Ronso. The Ronso moved behind Yuna and crossed his arms, and just stood there. The other was a tall powerful figure. He kept his left arm out of its proper sleeve. The man walked over, and said in a voice that matched his body,

“Now that we are all up we might as well get moving.” There were many protests. No one obviously wanted to go anywhere. I managed to catch Tidus’s voice as he said in protest,

“C’mon Auron, we can’t go now. Rikku just woke up. She is too weak to go anywhere.” Not wanting to a burden, I tried to get up on my feet to show I could walk. As I slowly got up, my legs started to wobble more and more. Right as I locked my legs strait, they gave out, and I started to fall. Before I knew it I was in the arms of Tidus. He had caught me as I fell. I leaned forward and hugged him tight resting my head on his shoulder. I soaked up his warmth. I didn’t want this moment to end.

“Thank you,” I whispered into his ear.

“You’re welcome,” he responded softly. I unfortunately had to break the hug. I didn’t want to get things to get too weird. He looked over at Auron.

“Hmph,” was all Auron said as he turned and went back to his tent. After that everyone seemed to disperse. Tidus remained however, even though the other guy whom he called Wakka returned to his spot near the fire. I looked towards Tidus to see what was up.

“Someone needs to help you back into your tent,” he said.

“Yea I guess so,” I replied. He walked over and scooped me up into his arms. I giggled. I rested my head against his shoulder feeling the warmth of his bare chest. He set me down softly in my tent, well his tent. I looked back up to him thinking what to say. All I could get out was,

“Good night.” He replied the same way. I laid my head back onto the makeshift pillow. It was then that I realized: I truly did love him.

Yeah i like it too.

the translation thing could be solved with italics or something but the system your using is good.

there are a few typos but they dont spoil it that much.

Your writing style is very good.

A/N: Sorry for the little while without the update. Too lazy I guess. Well here is the next chapter.

Chapter 3: On the Road

I awoke the next morning, more sore and aching then I have ever been in my entire life. Hopefully I could walk. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. It was no longer dark out, but I wouldn’t exactly call it light out. There were ruffles outside my tent. It sounded like someone was packing things up. I moved to my knees, and just like the night before tumbled out of my tent. This time though, I could get up. As I got up I looked around. The fire was just smoldering, but there was still a faint tint of smoke in the air. The only tent that was up was mine. The only person I saw was Tidus, with his back to me. He didn’t notice me. Thank Yevon. Where were the others? Tidus continued what he was doing completely oblivious to me. I took a step forward. I was going to sneak up and scare him, when of course the others came back.

“Hey Rikku you’re up!” I noticed as Yuna’s voice. I stopped what I was doing and turned to face Yuna. I put on a big smile.

“Hey Yunie!” I ran towards her and gave her a big hug. “How ya been?” We had a normal chat, as she introduced me to everyone.

“Wait, You two know each other?” Wakka asked.

“Um, yea we’ve met before; when I was little.” Yuna replied. I caught her hint. I nodded. “But, isn’t she Al Bhed?”

“Yes Wakka, she is. We’ve discussed this before; there is nothing wrong with the Al Bhed.”

“Nothing wrong except they hate Yevon, and use forbidden Machina.” I was getting angry now. I was about to start yelling when Tidus spoke up.

“Hey we should get moving we waited long enough for sleepyhead to wake up, and Auron says we need to get to Gudosalam by nightfall.” It took me a moment to realize who “sleepyhead” was. I could feel my face getting a little warm. Hopefully it wasn’t too bad.

From that point, thing were pretty much boring for me. I sat there on a long, while others finished packing. I watched some cute little rodents scamper here and there. A few birds were singing in the trees. There was the sound of water lapping on the shore. It was quite relaxing; too relaxing. I almost nodded off, when Tidus nudged my shoulder.

“C’mon Rikku were finally leaving!” he said. I got up and stretched my arms. I nodded still half asleep, and followed Tidus without a word. We moved towards the others, and we all set off on the road.

The road took us slowly into a deep green forest. It was creepy. No one was saying anything. We just walked along, the sun filtering through the trees. Finally Tidus broke the silence, and I almost jumped.

“Man, I could for some blitzball. How about you Wakka.?”

“Hey man, you know I quit. Goin’ back we be cheatin myself ya?” Wakka replied.

“Oh come on Wakka. You can’t quit all together.”

“I have to until Yuna’s pilgrimage is over. I’m a full time guardian now ya?”

“Boys and their blitzball.” Why couldn’t I remember her name? Yuna just told it to me. Tofu? Rue? Lu Lu! I remembered it.

“Hey Lu, as I said before: Boys never grow out of their toys.” Wakka replied.

He got that one right. Sometimes I wondered what was going through Brothers’ head when he started playing with littld kid machina, as if he was 8 again. Suddenly the Ronso called Khimari, motioned us to stop.

“Fiend nearby.” He said. Immediately the group was alert and focused. Thankfully my targe was already on and my claw in hand. We only moved a little ways, when a giant Ochu plopped in front of us. We were about to attack it, when we heard a few growls and yips behind us, as a few of us turned, three of the wolflike garms appeared out of the trees. Ambushed. We walked right into it. It turned out 4 kept their attention on the Ochu, Auron Lulu, Yuna, and Khimari, while me, Tidus, and Wakka, attacked the garms. If one side fell the others would as well. I kept my attention focused on the garm in front of me. It snarled at me. I narrowed my eyebrows, and lept forward, striking my foe. It wasn’t severe but it slowed it down. It just growled again and lept towards me. It took most of my strength just to stay in that spot, as to protect the ones behind me. I put my targe up to hopefully take the blow. A blue arc, and the garm fell. I looked over at Tidus and Wakka who had already defeated their foe. How embarrassing. Oh well, now I could say Tidus was my knight in not so shinning armor. I turned around just in time to see Auron dealing the final blow to the Ocho, which slumped into a haze of green haze.

The party looked around, then kept moving as nothing had happened. I, on the other hand, was feeling the effects of fatigue. I slowly lagged behind. Finally I just said I needed a break. There were some grumbles.

“We cannot stop, or we will never make it to Guadosalam.” Auron said.

“Please, just a little rest,” I pleaded.

“Maybe next time,” he replied. I groaned. Tidus then spoke up.

“You guys go on to Guadosalam. I’ll stay so Rikku can rest. We’ll catch up at Guadosalam.”

“If you rest, you might spend a night out here.” Auron replied.

“Yea, then we will be in Guadosalam early in the morning, and we can leave from there.”

“Is that okay with Rikku?” I was trying so hard not to blush. I hated when the attention was on me.

“I don’t care as long as I get rest,” I said.

“It’s settled then,” Auron said. “We will meet you in Guadosalam, either tonight, or tomorrow morning.” With that the group turned and started walking once again down the road. A thought popped in my head. It was early in the day, so that meens I had a whole day of just me and Tidus. This was either going to be the best day or the worst day of my life.

A/N: Hey guys sorry for the really long time before the update. I guess I never typed it cause I was just plain lazy. I hope I still have a few fans out there. Here it is chapter 4. Hope you like it.

Chapter 4: Decisions

Today was going to be the day. I knew it. Whether it was good or bad, or even if I wanted it to happen, I was unsure. There were many things that I would be unsure about today. For starters, I wasn’t sure when we were going to eat, because I was hungry. But we had rested recently, and I wanted to be as less of a burden as possible. Tidus and I didn’t really speak a whole lot when we first started moving. We walked side by side with the trees around us gradually thickening, and getting a deeper shade of green to them. The sunlight filtered through the branches above, and judging it, I guessed it was about midday. I started thinking a little, and I finally was happy to live with two guys. I knew how they worked. I knew how I could get a conversation going, and without really thinking of the consequences I asked him,

“So, what do ya think of Yunie? I mean c’mon what guy wouldn’t want Yunie?” Tidus had the faintest hint of a blush. I couldn’t tell for sure what he was going to say. I though I knew boys. Heh, was I wrong.

“I dunno, she is kinda hot isn’t she?” He said with no emotion on his face.

“I’m asking you silly, you shouldn’t ask me in return!”

“Well, what am I supposed to say?”

“It wasn’t supposed to be a hard question,” I said as I punched him playfully. And of course, he had to pretend it hurt. I just glared at him trying to hold in my giggles. He attempted to look the same way, and I couldn’t suppress my laughter. We both started laughing. I finally had broken the ice.

We continued to catch up throughout the day. I had done a lot of screwing around to. I had decided that if I could, I would spend the night out here with him. I wouldn’t have mattered, I wouldn’t have a choice.

“Hey Rikku, you hear that?” Tidus said narrowing his eyes ever so slightly. I stuck my ear out a little.

“Hear what?” I replied.

“That faint humming sound.” Now that he had said it. I did hear it.

“What could it be?”

“I dunno, but let’s try to not find out.”

“You don’t have to tell me.” We continued walking, neither of us talking anymore. We both knew this wasn’t good, because the humming got louder as we moved forward. We rounded a small bend and in the middle, was a swarm of bite bugs. They were attacking something, but I couldn’t see what. I whispered to Tidus.

“I can’t remember what kill these things.”

“You can’t tell me, you mean to attack those things.”

“Well, they sorta are in our way.”

“Well, I guess so. Don’t these things just get obliterated by ice?” As soon as he said it, it clicked. I pulled out two Artic Winds from my pouch.

“This should do the trick.” I chucked them as hard as I could, the winds exploding on contact, into shards of razor sharp ice crystals. The swarm seemed to drop from the air, hitting the ground simultaneously with a thud.

“Way to go Rikku!” I smiled. I finally had proved my worth on this little excursion. We started to walk toward the dead swarm a little too carelessly. It didn’t even cross my mind that they might not be dead. That could prove to be fatal, as one bite bug, bleeding from it abdomen, shakingly sprung up. It deep black stinger extended from it green body, and struck Tidus in the chest. I still had my claw in hand, and I struck the bite bug, before it could do any more damage. Tidus fell to the ground in shock. I didn’t know what to do. Bite bugs luckily weren’t very poisonous, but their sting caused their victims to have spasm attacks. The effects were already kicking in on Tidus, as he began to shake. I pulled the only antidote out of my pouch. It wasn’t going to work. This wasn’t poison I was dealing with. I pulled a hypello potion, and began frantically mixing the two. It was the last of the healing supplies. If this wouldn’t work, Tidus might be gone. I kneeled next to his shaking body. I was about to administer the mixture, when his shaking got worse. His arm flailed and knocked the potion out of my hand. It splattered all over my face, and the ground. What was I going to do now? If I don’t act, Tidus will be dead. A tear rolled down my cheek, and onto Tidus’ shaking body.

A/N: For me this was the hardest chapter to write so far. It was a little different as there is hardly any dialect. And I apologize for it being a little on the short side. Well hope you like it. (and I hope I'm not breaking the rules by double posting)

Chapter 5: More Decisions

I looked down at the clear thick fluid on the ground. This couldn’t be happening. Tidus’s last chance was all over me and the ground. My hands were all bloody from killing the bite bug, and attempting to close Tidus’s stinger wound. There was no way this could be happening. There was no way I could transfer the antidote from the ground to his mouth with my hands. Not with all the blood. And I couldn’t just leave him in the state he was in. If I didn’t do something he would be dead within minutes. What was I going to do? I was not going to let him die. I couldn’t let him die. What would the others think? This couldn’t be happening. I got up off of my knees and looked around for anything. There was nothing around except the deep green trees with the small undergrowth. I screamed. It seemed as if I could do nothing. No. It didn’t seem as if I could do nothing, there was nothing I could do. Tidus was gone. Tears started to flow a little more freely. I sank back down onto my knees next to Tidus. Tidus’s spasms had ceased, but could start up again anytime. His breathing was heavy, and evidence of life was leaving him. I grabbed a fistful of his shirt, buried by face in his chest sobbing, leaving a thin trail of water down my cheeks. He was almost gone…

I was so surprised when it happened. At first it was just a thin rasp, but gradually became more and more audible. I looked up and Tidus had fluttered his eyes open. He was trying to say something. I leaned toward him trying to hear what he was saying. I couldn’t make out what he was saying. My heart was beating faster. I knew what he was trying to tell me could save his life. If I could only understand him. I inhaled deeply, and listened as close as I could.

“Rikku………………lips………,” Tidus said barely audible. Lips? What was that supposed to mean?

“Antidote………….” It was then I realized. I stuck my tongue out just barely a wet my lower lip slightly. As I guessed the taste of antidote was there. No way was this happening. Yea, I admit I wanted to kiss Tidus, but I didn’t think his life would ever depend on it. What would happen if it didn’t work? If it did what would happen after he was healed? So many questions raced through my mind. Tidus’s hand weakly raised, and attempted to bring me closer, before it went limp, and Tidus went unconscious. I had to do it. I closed my eyes, leaned closer, and touched my lips to his. The feeling of his lips against mine was one which wouldn’t be soon forgotten. His lips moved slightly to take in as much antidote as possible. I uncertainly and unwillingly moved away from him, the tingling sensation was still there. I touched my lips with two fingers. It was the best feeling I have ever had. Yea I had kissed a boy when I was younger, but it was nothing like this.

Tidus started shaking slightly again. The antidote was cleaning his body out. It looked horrible, so horrible, I had to look away. I never really did have a strong stomach. I could hear moaning coming from Tidus. I moved away from him slightly has the antidote continued its work. After what seemed like forever, the antidote seemed to have done its work. I looked back at Tidus who had one final shake, and the stingers effect was purged from his body. The antidote had used the small stinger wound that had reopened to remove any impure blood. Tidus opened his eyes and he sat upright. He looked shocked, as he looked around. I looked at him briefly before running forward, dropping to my knees and gave him a big hug.

“You’re alright!” I said in between sobs.

“All thanks to you,” He replied. He pushed me away from the hug. I was surprised and briefly hurt, before I got an even bigger surprise, when he leaned forward, and we locked lips once more…
