I thought of this just now and I apologize if this has already been said, and you'll all probably shoot holes in this theory but:
Maybe thorn will die causing murtgahs true name to change and thus be released from galbys spells, reforming him to light side murt, then he steals the egg and on transport to the varden it hatches for him which might work as hes already trained rider-wise. or you'll all probably prefer that the moment he gets to the varden, arya touches the egg, and bingo bango new rider. story becomes flat and boring, i think/hope cp will throw a twist in there somehow. xoxo |

There is a chance that Galbatorix made him touch the green egg before he touched the red egg and would have hatched for him then. -------------------- "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" - Arthur C. Also, I don't think it's at all possible to become a Rider twice. If CP did it, it would be horribly stupid and frustrating. I hope he makes it Arya, and I think that she is THE obvious candidate. As others have said, mere process of elimination tells you it has to be her.

We don't know if it's possible to become a Rider twice. So I guess it's possible. There's nothing for or against it. QUOTE or you'll all probably prefer that the moment he gets to the varden, arya touches the egg, and bingo bango new rider. story becomes flat and boring, i think/hope cp will throw a twist in there somehow. xoxo I don't see how Arya becoming the Rider makes the story flat and boring automatically. Sure it's predictable, but it can still be written well. We know that Eragon will kill Galbatorix, but that doesn't make the story boring. I also hope CP puts in a twist in any part of the story, just one that makes sense and doesn't look like he put it in just for the sake of being unpredictable. I doubt this will happen, because CP is a fairly predictable writer. I still enjoy his books though. -------------------- Wishing I had something funny to put here.

It will be Roran: why else would Eragon get him to practise magic? Roran was just curious about magic, he doesn't want to become a Rider and become immortal and if he did become a Rider he wouldn't be able to be with Katrina and their baby. No, making Roran the next Rider would be very cruel on CP's part. -------------------- "Never Mind The Dog- BEWARE OF OWNER!!!!!!!!!"
Other books I like: Cirque du Freak Twilight( yes, unfortunately) Artemis Fowl The Demonata Percy Jackson & The Olympians Harry Potter And last but not least: INHERITANCE SERIES!!!!!!!:) |

Just a little edit-thingy (if no-one said anyting) :
Solembum can't be the next Rider because he's a werecat, and they were not included in the spell that binded the dragons with elves and humans. This post has been edited by Tashkalia: Jun 29 2009, 05:06 PM -------------------- "No Maiya, rain is not a season"

Chances are will will be Arya. Hopefully CP doesn't pull a "6 Months Later" on us. While it will be hard to fly all the way back to Du Welvarden to make a sword I think it would be well worth the effort. This might be a little off topic but hasn't anyone thought that maybe Galbaltorix placed words around himself so that if he actually is killed in some way that defies his wards all of Alageasia will be cursed or something like that? Maybe it will sink very slowly! That would explain why he has to leave Alagaesia forever.

Firstly, double posting is against the rules, if you have something else to add, use the edit button. Anyways, since when did magic and ( and I know you didn't say this but some people have) eye color have any bearing in whether a person becomes a Rider or not? Also, Orimis' eyes weren't gold, so eye color really doesn't matter. And can't magic color change depending on which spell you use?

Eye color and magic color are not conclusive evidence by itself, however, when viewed as a part of the larger body of evidence one can easily argue that it is foreshadowing by CP. It very well may not be foreshadowing, but you also cannot rule it out completely as a possible use of foreshadowing. Again, this is not conclusive, but I think it merits a closer look if one looks at the Arya argument as a whole. Also, I believe the color of a Rider's magic changes to match the color of their dragon. I think that was answered by CP in an interview...not sure which one. -------------------- ![]() |

Then they steal the egg from galby. Then the egg hatches for Arya after eragon will entrust the egg with her after they rescue it. -------------------- "Your life is your own. Rise up and Live it." If there are clues for the third rider within the first two (if not three) books, then the color of Arya's magic and her eyes must be taken into account as a possible sign of foreshadowing the next dragon will be green. At least until CP himself eliminates it as a possibility. However, since this is a new thread, I also believe a sign of foreshadowing is the fact that Eragon and Murtagh for example are both unusually talented with a sword. So was Brom. I think it is a rider trait since they all had swords specially made for them. With that said, I think Arya's ability with a sword is also a possible sign of her being the next rider. And yes, I believe the color of the person's magic changes with the color of their dragon. -------------------- "I went to a fight the other night, and a hockey game broke out." - Rodney Dangerfield
