Do you really think that book IV will span 10+ years so the kid would be old enough to be a Rider? Highly doubtful. Also, if you read the first post, the character is not in all the other books, nor is it logically inevitable, nor are there hints throughout the series that it will be the child.

His significance was to prove that Roran and Katrina loved each other.

Like I said on page 1:

The scenes where Roran tries to use magic are to emphasize that Roran is just an ordinary, average guy. Notice that every time he tries to use magic, he fails. This is to underline the fact that he does all his amazing feats: killing 193 men, wrestling an Urgal, taking 50 lashes without magic. He is just a normal, mortal human being. If Roran could use magic, he could easily kill those soldiers by using death words. He is inspiring to the Varden because they see that this amazing stuff can be accomplished by an ordinary foot soldier. So Roran won't be using magic any time soon.

I believe it will be Arya. I don't need to give my reasons because they have already been said by other ppl.

I believe that Arya will be the next rider because she would be the first female rider and a said many times greenie and sapire, Eragon and arya will happen.

It is also possible to be Roran as he is strong and a leader but i think it is highly unlikely because Katrina will be mortal and die so they love cannot be.


The only way Orik could be the rider if the green dragon is to call upon the power of magic (which is unlikely). But if that were to happen he would be perfect also it could be a hint that he is strongly protesting the fact that the dwarfs stood by as the humans and elves became riders. He would have loved to be a rider

I'm not sure if she will be the first female Rider. There probably has been at least one in the hundreds of Riders in the past. Also, Saphira+Greenie doesn't have to happen (she could mate with Thorn) but if Arya is the green rider, it is made more likely because of the connection.

Right now dwarves are not included in the dragon rider spell, and the spell is so old and powerful that I doubt one dragon could change it. Of course we don't know exactly what dragon magic can do.

I agree that it would be predictable, but predictable does not always mean it is bad. A predictable event can still be written well, although it usually is not.

Arya. She's basically the only logical choice at this point.

By the way, how on earth would it be Solembum?

Depending of course, on which logic you follow. In my opinion, Arya is more of an obvious choice than a logical one, but I still don't want her to become a Rider.

And it wont be Solumbum.

Unfortunately, logic is a rather unbiased way of thinking. There is no dancing around it, she is the most logical. What other logic could possibly apply for any candidate over her?

I think third Rider will be Roran, because
- He is Eragon's cousin
- He had skill, like Eragon (but he is slow)
- In "Brisingr", Eragon taught Roran magic, then when the eggs hatch for Roran, he said : "stern reisa", the stone raise ... Roran no.1
- And he is a man

But remember, Roran failed at using magic. Also, many people think that the next rider will be a girl, because we have never heard of one, and one doesn't currently exist. My opinion is Elva.

Also, don't worry about your English, it is easy enough to read what you write, and English (so I've heard) is difficult to learn. You already have better grammar that half the people on these forums.
