Please, let me know of any spelling errors, I made, it's almost 3 here, and my spelling isn't so great in the first place.
And, please (if anyone uses this) link to the thread with your result, or even post your result.

Seeing as I need to get to know GIMP, I'll be likely to try this out soon. I think that after the 6th picture, the taking away of a lot of that ruins it, the final result seems far too plain compared to that 6th picture, though unfinished. I think it may have looked far nicer if you had taken other steps after that picture, but I have never used GIMP so don't take my opinion to heart.

The first 6 images were kinda rushed, that's why the image significantly changes after the 6th one.
My computer locked up while saving the tag, and It saved all of the layers except the lowest 8.
I had to re-do the lowest layers, and I kinda rushed them because I was tired.
Sorry, about that.
If something in there doesn't look good to you, then skip it, this is just how I make my sigs, and it's a place for others to start if they like how my sigs look.
I'm glad that you're going to try this though, please let me see how it came out!

If I do this tutorial, I am not going to do the same render, etc. I will personalize it. If I was more exerience, I would use this as a rough guide and completely create in on my own. You realise that, right?

EDIT: I had another look at the pictures. I think that the final outcome needed more blending and less raw on the C4D's, and you needed more of the red C4D in it.

As said, you can follow tutorials as you like. Even if you don't particularly like the final result, there could be some methods used to obtain said result that you can apply elsewhere. Just using a different render doesn't really mean you're making the tutorial your own. whilst you get used to GIMP, sure, follow it to the letter, but b sure to begin deviating and experimenting as soon as you feel you are able.

I often saw comments on Deviant art where people wanted the same render as the tutorial they saw, I guess it made it easier to follow for learning purposes, I wasn't saying that you needed that render, I'm sorry for any confusion.

Not bad, but first thing I notice is the render is choppy, and well, it seems kinda flat and just a bit too busy and too blurry. There also isn't much of the render showing in it. Yes, I know my current sig isn't that wonderful... (mostly due to the crap on the top left)
