Chapter 1
I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Hiding in the shadow's of the tree's, far off enough where they couldn't see me, I watched in complete silence and astonishment.
I had never come across someone so beautiful, other than myself. I don't remember much of when I first became what I am, but all I do remember is that I was beautiful. And a monster. I didn't want to be what I had become, but I knew, somewhere there had to be other's like me.
And I found them. I made it from Maine, to a tiny town in the Olympic Peninsula, a town named Forks, Washington. I was in the middle of the wood's, just outside of town. I came across a beautiful home, but I knew human's lived there, and I didn't want to intrude on them, or make my thirst worse. I wondered through the wood's, when I heard laughter and then russtling of the leaves that laid across the ground. Not far off, I found them.
A woman, beautiful, as I am. And a man. Their appearance was just like mine, only they were different somehow. They had golden brown eyes, instead of the red ones, I posess. Their skin was the same, hard, cold stone type. Pale, too. There was a child with them, but was she really a child? I didn't know. All I knew was that, they were different. I thought I would run into them sucking on the blood of a unsuspecting town folk. Instead, I seen three of them crouched over the body of an animal, deer it looked like from where I was standing.
I wished to approach them, but didn't want to give them the impression I was a danger to them. Maybe, I was. Since, I was new. The ones that I ran into, were somewhat expiernced in this life.
I waited, and when they left, I made my first appearance out of the tree's. I heard them all the way until I couldn't hear them anymore. It sounded like a door shutting. The home I ran into did not belong to a human.
You see, my name is Faith Razdej. From what I can remember of my human life, I was a girl from the South. A rich southern family. Until one night, I was very recklass. I met a boy, who was the most beautiful I have ever seen. And he turned me. A vampire. That's what I am. It's been a few years since I changed, but even now, I can't remember that expiernece. I run into a few of my kind now and then. But, never have I seen anything quite like these two vampire's that were only feet from me. They hunted animals, not human's? I was confused, and I wanted to learn more.
I stopped short, before making my way through the forest, in the direction they were heading. Maybe I would try hunting an animal. It didn't seem like a hard task, and it could subside my thirst for now, until I could find something more appealing.
I ran through the wood's with my incredile speed that came with being what I am. I found a deer, and pounced onto it. The taste of the blood that filled my mouth, was warm, and oddly, not that bad. I drank until I couldn't drink anymore, and flew in the direction of where those other's came from. How I was anxious to meet such civilized vampires.
[Thanks! This is the first chapter. I thought, since I have this idea in my head, I want to write the second chapter, before I get off of here. Please, comment. I take all sorts of them, whether they be good or bad! - Faith Cullen]
Chapter 2
I finally found the house I had been searching for. It took longer than expected, although, I lost track of time long ago. I couldn't sleep anyway, so I had nothing but time on my hands.
I walked up the step's to the front door, which looked inviting. There was a large door-knocker on the front, and I pulled it into my strong hands, nearly breaking it off. It pounded against the door, and I heard footsteps slowly walking to it. I couldn't imagine walking when we had the speed to outrun a cheetah.
I gasped when the front door was opened. His skin as hard as stone, stood a blonde man, in his early twenties, from the sights of it. He smiled.
"Hello. Can I help you?" he asked. His voice was gentle. Like, he had expected me here. I smiled in return.
"Hi. I'm Faith Razdej. I travled all the way from Maine to find another Coven, but as you see, I am alone. I was wondering if I could come in and speak with you?" I asked. He seemed willing enough.
"Sure, come on in," he said, inviting me in. The living room was magnificent. A grand piano stood off to the side on a low platform. Another man entered the room. His size was amazing, huge muscles busting out of his stone chest.
"Emmett, this is Faith Razdej. She stopped by. Travelled all the way from Maine to find another coven. However, she is all alone," the blonde haired man said to the burly one.
"Hi, Faith. Emmett Cullen," Emmett said, holding out his strong hand. I put my fragile, yet also strong hand in his. His face was unconvinced though. It must have been the color of my eyes, a deep red almost.
"Faith, I'm Carlisle Cullen. It's very nice to have met you. Would you like to sit?" Carlisle asked. He sat down on one of the leather couches that were set aside.
I sat down in the chair opposite him, so I could read his face.
"Tell me about yourself, Faith. I see you obviously are the same as us," he said. He could tell by my eyes.
"Yes. I was changed a few years ago. But, I remember nothing about being changed at all. I remember the night it happened, but nothing afterwards. If I'm not mistaken, I was 18 when I was turned," I said. I think I was right. I was born in the Spring of 1987.
"Oh. I'm sorry to hear that, although, the memories of being changed are nothing to worry about. Be glad that you don't. We all do. Let me bring everyone down so you can introduce them to you," Carlisle said. Almost instantly, without saying a word, five individuals walked down the stairs and into the living room. Two were the ones I seen in the wood's near the home.
"Edward, Bella, Renesmee, Alice, Jasper. This is Faith Razdej. Here to talk with us about our family. Faith, that's my son Edward and his wife Bella and their daughter Renesmee. My daughter Alice and adopted son Jasper. Bella is the newest to our family as is Renesmee," Carlisle said. I was shocked to hear the words, wife and daughter. Edward was surprisingly nice to look at it. But, so were all of them.
"It's nice to meet you," I said. I didn't want to seem rude. Each smiled in return, and came to sit along with us. Carlisle smiled. The door opened just then, and the smell of something rancid walk through the door. I smelled this smell before. Only not this close. I turned to see a normal looking Indian boy walk through the door. His russet color skin, almost beautiful, beaded with sweat.
The daughter, Renesmee, burst into excited giggles when he walked through the door, and he walked to her with open arms. I finally realized what that smell was. The boy was a shape shifter. Our mortal enemies. I wonder what he was doing here. The woman, whose name I remembered as Bella, seen my reaction and chimed in.
"Don't mind Jacob. He's my best friend, and also Renesmee's protector of sorts. We might be her parents, but now Jacob is her life long protector. He's a werewolf, so you'll get used to the smell, if you stay. I'll explain later why Jacob is my daughter's life protector," she said. I understood. But, not quite. I had questions.
"What brought you this way?" Edward cut into my thoughts. I was suddenly very calm, as if a wave rushed over me.
"I don't remember being changed. So, when I awoke from it, I didn't understand what was going on. I tried to quench my thirst by starving myself. I tried not to hunt human's, but they are so irresistable sometimes. I don't want to be a monster. I was in the wood's earlier, when I seen you and your wife and Renesmee were hunting. I stayed back in the shadow, not to pose any harm on you. I know how thirsty vampire's can be. But, I noticed that you fed on animal's. I was curious, so I thought I would stop to introduce myself," I said. I didn't expect to meet such a well civilized coven.
Jasper smiled. "It's nice of you to do so," and Alice took his hand. She was pixy like, small, almost fragile looking with her pale skin and muscles you could clearly see in her tiny frame.
Then, I realized, I had no mate. Everyone in this family already had a mate.
"You look young for your age. Would you like to join our family. We have certain rules. You must become one of us. That is, different than other vampire's. We don't hunt human's, but animal's as you saw. We need you to become like us, or you can no longer stay with us," Carlisle said. I nodded. There would be exposure because of me.
"Thank you so much, Carlisle. I appreciate it," I said. And I truly did. The entire room smiled and their new family member. Me. Faith Cullen.
