After a random touch of inspiration and having tons of free time on my hands, I decided I wanted to make a couple of Pokemon sigs dedicated to my favorites.

Here's the first of the bunch:

Will have the next one up soon.

So, C&C, anyone? Pretty please with a cherry on top? D.gif

Since you asked so nicely.....Kidding. I'd do anything for ya Stormsy. ;).gif

It's pretty good. The monsters (Is that what it is?) left side looks a bit choppy and the smudging just throws it all off.

But the background is cool and the figure itself is awesome. Real nice. D.gif

Yeah, the smudging.... I was trying to go for a slight glowing effect, but I guess that really turn out that well.

By the way, it's a Pokemon. Hence the description and all that. ;).gif

Yes, yes, I know. Double posting is bad...

But here's the second one. And I even found a font for this time that sort of fits (I know, it's not anything exciting, but at least it works)!

I know what you are thinking. "Chica, what did the smudge tool ever do to you, why are you abusing it so much!?!" But Giratina is depicted as a rather unstable so I thought the smudges and swirls of color together with some slightly choppy parts added a nice touch to that.

As always, any thoughts, comments, and/or critique is very much appreciated.

What do you use for your fonts?

GIMP or Photoshop usually, depending on which program I decide to use. Or I copy and paste from something else.

Or did you mean, what font I used?

No, just that. I've tried using GIMP for text, but it's never worked out well.

Adding text with GIMP can be pretty frustrating. I find that simply typing the text out on something like Notepad or Microsoft Word and than copying and pasting it directly onto where you want it on the image works pretty well, though.

I've never had trouble adding text with the GIMP what do you find so difficult about it?
Putting it in, or editing it?

Editing it. I usually try out many of different fonts before I decide on the one I like. I find it kind of complicated to take them out and changes sizes and colors and things like that after I apply them.

You have to use the text tool to change existing text. ;).gif

I've experimented with ity, and I think I've gotten the hang of it. Thanks to Wra1th, I now have a lot of great fonts to use, and it's alot easier with practise. The only thing that was tough for me was doing multiple texts, the many different layers got confusing.

Really? The new layer is automatically named whatever the text is, so I wouldn't think it would be too hard...

yeah... If you double click the layer with the text tool selected you have full control of it as if you were typing it again.
scroll wheel makes font and size adjustments easy. and color is only a couple of clicks away too.

It wasn't so much that it was dificult, just really confusing. I had to do multiple text boxes to get it how I liked it, so trying to grab each one when they were almost on top pf each other was challenging.
