Hey there. I've never really taken photos in an artistic perspective. So this is my first shot at it.

And in case you were wondering, the little brown dog--we used to think she was a chihuahua, but now we learned she's a rat terrier--is Dixie, the chubby white one is Jersey, and the fat lab is Jack.

Enjoy!

I like the second to last one the best.

Umm, not to rain on your parade, but you might have wasted this topic. You should have just added this to your original art topic that you have, just to help you out a bit. Just add your photography to your other art topic.

But otherwise, these are all really good, though you might want to take them at different angles. Like, in the third one, that wall there wasn't exactly needed, which blocked out some of the dog and added blurriness. Otherwise, I love them a lot, especially dogs ;).gif.

Thanks a bunch, both of you!

I was thinking of adding these photos to my other topic, but then I would have to double post (yes, I could just edit my last post, but then you can't tell there's new material added), and I also just decided I would have photography here and drawings there. Besides the pineapple and the walrus chocolate bar, I don't have any photos in my drawing thread. The rules do state you can make one thread per type of art; painting, photography, sculpting, etc. So I'm pretty sure I'm not breaking any rules.

And thanks for the critique. I'll try different angles next time. And I'll stay away from the blurriness.

Well, it's not against the rules to double post for updates. I did that once, and I even asked LG, the once was arts moderator, so just a heads up for the future.

Have more updates ).gif

Oh, really? I thought double posts were only allowed in the writer's section for new chapters. Well, thanks a bunch for notifying me of that! It'll sure make things easier.

I will, and sorry I haven't added anything here yet. It's too late now, but I'll try to get more pictures as soon as possible.

Thanks!

Were you shooting on auto? You might want to try shooting on manual, and increasing the Aperture, so that more of the blades of grass are in focus. Also, the dog ones lack focus and balance. Try getting closer, and just have the dog against the grass, or framing the dog against a different background. At the moment, they just look like Aunt Sally's pictures of Rufus.

You know, I've never really looked through the different settings on the camera. I usually just use the Auto feature, yeah. At least I think that's what it's called. I'll have to check.

What do you mean by shooting on manual? Is every other feature besides auto manual? I don't really know my way around the digital camera. I can barely operate the regular film cameras. Technology, technology...

I agree on the close up of the grass. More blades should have been in focus, and I'd say the ones farther back should have been more blurred. But this is me talking, the guy with no experience when it comes to photography.

I'll take in your advice and see how I can improve. I'll just experiment and try different things. First I just need to get me some extra time...

Thanks for the advice!

Yeah, you should try experimenting with manual more. You can get so many more great shots. tongue.gif There should be a setting, depending on what camera you have, that has an "M" on it. That's Manual. ;).gif What kind of camera do you use?
