I was wondering if there's any interest in having one soon. And if you guys had any thoughts around it. Do share ^_^

Explanation for the themes in the poll

Movement: Capture movement in a picture. One photo.

Mystery: Open for interpretation tongue.gif One photo.

Light and Darkness: It's more of a light versus darkness in my mind. But it's a little up to you what you guys want. I was thinking maybe trying to make out the contrast light/dark. One or two photos.

Focus: As I pictured this theme, it would be two photos. One with selective focus and one focusing on everything. In the last photo, point perspective could be mixed in here. But as always it's mostly up to you guys. What you want. Two photos.

Contrasts: Pretty self-explanatory. One or two photos.

Feelings: Select one feeling (or as many as we agree upon) and portray it in a photo.

Silence: Open for interpretation. One photo.

Ooh yes please! If you do make it though, could you start in I ten days? I'm going on holiday...

Honestly, I think this would be an excellent idea, although it would be hard to choose a certain theme. Flowers are too hard to judge (kinda), and landscaping might be pretty cool, although where I'm at, there's not really much "beauty" around here.

When we starting?

I'd post abstract long exposure stuff if we had a competition. Or are we planning for a specific theme?

A talented photographer can find beauty in any place. Mostly, that is, heh. ).gif

I think we'll likely have a specific theme. What do you guys like the sound of?

I really want to do a candy theme. It would be so colorful and fun.

FABULOUSSSSS!!

^ That's racist. Only Americans & Canadians would be able to enter, since everyone else would only be able to take photos of sweets! XP

Anyway, I'd love to enter, but at my house there is hardly any candy/sweets to photograph. Maybe something more outdoorsy or more universal? Like pets, or the sky, or bugs...

Since I rarely venture into this section, feel free to ignore me...

Well said! But I think it's a great idea.
The judging might become a little subjective though, and the subject matter would be hard to choose. I'll leave all that to your capable hands...

Oooh, yes. I remember there was a thread a while back about suggestions for the topic. I was thinking it could be something intangible, to leave the interpretation to the photographer. Things like point perspective (Ally's idea), or darkness, light, overcast, etc.

We've been thinking about the theme movement. How do you guys like that?

The problem with that, as I see it, is that it would be much harder to compose a good picture, especially if you can't travel, and also that it might end up as whose picture has the best-looking/coolest-looking blurring. =/ Just my personal opinion.

Free form is a lot more fun. It's rather hard and confining to take pics of something specific. And some people take pics better of stuff like flowers or whatever. Pics vary too much.
Also, it's a bit hard to do stuff like candy if you don't have any.

So free form is my vote. That way the artists themselves can have more fun.
