"They say that some heros are born, and that others are made by how they live their lives. This isn't really so. Everyone has the will to become a hero inside of them. The hard part is finding the strength to do what is right, not what is desirable." - Daric, from Eldarn Sivort Malistar

Oh, Peace, you most elusive virtue!
Oh, Peace, you deceitful villain!
Oh, Peace, you taunting devil!
Always you lurk where you cannot be reached.
Always you hide in the shadow, just beyond where the light fades.
Too many men have died for you.
Too many women have cried for you.
But still, you deprive us of your presence.
Oh, Peace, you, bringer of all evil.
For it is you who we kill for, you who we send our sons to bring us back.
And yet it is you who are the trophy still unearned.
We should take you, and display you in a case with reason and equality.
Or mount you on the wall with social justice, and democracy.
You are the one grace we, as a people, cannot attain.
But if not we, as a people, then who?
Me? As a person?

I didn't quite get it until I read your signature....the part about a world of peaceful individuals. It's very interesting. So, I take it that you believe that we cannot attain perfection as a people because we are an imperfect race, but that our society can only be good if we, as individuals, do our best?

If you could make the poems a little more personal, they'd inspire more emotion and make the readers more drawn in.
But other than that. Applauds.
when the day is late
And the horizon is as far
as you can see
It's hard when you're told
That you're getting old
and the world isn't
what it used to be."

“Calm.” Mr. Jenkins repeated flatly. “I’m perfectly calm. Oh, I’m as relaxed as I can be with an elephant floating by the window.” The last few words were increasing in volume until they were shrieks punctuated by violent stabbing motions at the window.

As a well known philosopher once said, "Peace cannot exist as long as man bestrides the earth." (loosely quoted as I cannot remember in exact words what was said or by whom, I believe it was Plato, but it might have been socrates{SP?}) Good write, very inspiring, I think you would enjoy my poem, I am the phoenix, as it runs parralel(I know, horrid spelling) with this one. Regardless of faith and religion, Humans are a very imperfect race, and we must work to perfect ourselves. respect starts whithin, respect yourself, and you will find it easier to respect others, then peace may be attained. Keep inspiring us.
"may good fortune rule over you, peace live in youre heart, and the stars watch over you." (dragons blessing from eldest)
I am a shield for others, to protect them evermore, from misfortune and heartache. I try to be the one to absorb their pain so they may live their lives with joy.
I'm like a plant of the night, in the light I wilt, but in the darkness I thrive.
Peace out, I may be back...I may never be back
