So, taking Arthryn and Nate's advice in the Mod topic, I did a complete 180, NOT doing an Anime or Dual Render sig.

I also took the pic of the pills myself. (My own Anti psychotics)
Which I'm rather proud of.

Also, the pills and the container look very out-of-place. Maybe change the background to something that isn't white and change the position of House/pills/pillbottle.

And the text isn't that great on the second one - the font is very out-of-place, especially if you know anything about what the show itself is like (Which I'm guessing you do).

Lovely render, shame about the background. Backgrounds are meant to focus the attention on the render (ussualy), and at the moment it is waaay to distracting. Also, use a much more standard font.

An exceptional step forward Pom.

Whilst the pieces don't all fit together brilliantly, I can see a massive move foward here. The concept and idea you have tried for this one is brilliant, I love the show and the legend that is Hugh Laurie, and they tie together pretty decently.

Like the others said, it doesn't work fantasically, but it is a step forward, remember that.

You need to work on bringing in filter effects and lighting effects etc etc. They can add massive depth and character to sigs.

I do have to say that the text is weakest bit of the piece, however, it is also the easiest bit to fix, so I won't anything more than change it to a default one like Century Gothic fer example. It will tie in more with the show, and will fit better.


A decent effort, a good conept, just the execution needs work. BUT. This is a massive step forward for you mate. Glad you finally listened.

Thank you! Really, I saw yours and Arthryn's post in FTD, and I was thinking, okay, this has to change. So I found this render, and I thought I'd try something new.

I think I'm going to follow some advanced Tuts, to see if I can learn some things about lighting, which I have a lot of trouble doing.

The only reason I used that font, is because I thought it would look more like handwriting. Looking back, you are right.

Nice job with POM. About the only thing I would say to make it better, in my eye is jus tmainly darken the background a bit. The brightness of it, like Pala said, is really distracting. I think if you were to tone it down a bit, it may just bring the focus more on House, than the pills.

Just my $.02 on the matter.

There is too much negative space in this tag. White backgrounds aren't cool. The concept as another said is quite good, but while concept is important, it doesn't make a sig suddenly good.

Also, V1 is better in my opinion. Placing text in the corner doesn't ever seem to work. It is to do with composition. You don't particularly need to know what composition is at the moment, but you should take into consideration that putting text in the corner doesn't look good.
