Arthryn walked through the halls with a clipboard in her hands, writing stuff down with a pen while keeping her eyes everywhere. The Psych Ward was upstairs, housing mostly the mental illnesses from FTD. There were a lot of cases that went unsolved in that section, ending up banned.
She walked at a fast pace now, trying to keep her eyes on the clipboard and the hall. She was in the clinic area, and there were a lot of members in the waiting room. Sighing heavily, she rested her elbows against the nurses station desk, and she rubbed her temple. "How many have we treated today?" she asked in a tired voice.
"One hundred, forty," Vincent said, standing up from the desk he was at, twisting his back which made a rather annoying popping sound.
"Wait until you get arthritis," she muttered, handing over the clipboard. He scanned over it quickly, then chuckled. "Get him to the ICU. Then we'll be able to treat him better." Vince nodded, still chuckling.
"Got it, boss." With that, he walked off with his white coat billowing behind him. Suddenly, there was a beeping sound in her coat pocket. Arthryn pulled out her pager, and groaned slightly. It was the ER, and it was obviously an emergency.
Half running to the ER, she could already hear the voices from the area. Crying could be heard, and she knew it was going to be a long day. But when she burst through the double doors into the ER, she was frusterated when nothing abnormal appeared. Her attitude was lightened when she could hear the sirens from the ambulance.
A few minutes after the sirens stopped along with the lights, cold air rushed in as the doors opened. Some snow blew in as a person on a gurney was rolled into the ER. It took Arthryn a couple of moments to figure out who it was. But when she noticed that black hair and deep eyes, she knew immediately who it was. Bucket.
"What the hell happened?" Arthryn asked as she rushed over to the gurney. Bucket was hysterical. It was almost like he was having a seizure, except he was fully aware at what was happening. A metal rod was in his head, and she could have sworn that the other end was coming out the side of his head. Blood had matted his hair, and his shirt and face was also coated in blood.
"He said it was just an accident, but there's no way it was an accident," Lady Goldylocks said as she tried to make him stay still.
"Get some restraints," Arthryn said to a nurse. After bucket was strapped down, he seemed enraged. He struggled against the restraints, but still nothing could get him out of there. "Just get a seditive. I can't work with him if he's like this." So after they gave him a seditive, he was out cold.
"Get him to the OR, and then up to the Psych Ward. We'll figure out what he was up to later, when he might actually be sane. And I want to know who else was in on this," Arthryn said. LG nodded, and the EMT jacket that she had on was also bloody. "Get a new jacket, and then you can take the rest of the day off. I'll get an intern to take your place. Besides, what else could happen?"
LG walked off, and bucket was wheeled away to the OR. How can anyone expect the Head of this hospital to be awake 24/7? I need some rest. With that, she walked off to the parking garage, where her car was. It had been a long day, and having bucket hurt again didn't help anything in this game. But she stopped dead in her tracks as she stared into the cold eyes of Loki, possibly the most feared criminal on IF. His smile turned into a wide grin as the fear crept through her.

He gave her twelve roses. Eleven were real and one was fake. He said, "I'll love you 'til the last one dies."

One thing I have to say:
"Fifty-two," Vincent said, standing up from the desk he was at, twisting his back which made a rather annoying popping sound.
THEY'RE OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!
Otherwise, very nice!

Good point XD.
I know this isn't much of a start, but I have a pretty good plot in my head that will hopefully follow out.

Lol, I wasn't trying to copy you, so sorry if you're getting that intention.
What did I do?

The same thing i did-- have him in my IF story. You can see his reaction to it on the first page (of mine) and then you can see why he asked you to go BLARGH yourself (because he is sick of being put in every damn IF story:P)

As a matter of fact, why don't you go cool off for a couple of days?

Now, to different matters...
Chapter two
Arthryn stared at the barrel of the gun that he waved innocently around. She winced everytime it pointed at her. If he blew the trigger, she'd be gone. Of course, she could easily ban him but it was impossible with all his reinforcements that seemed to show up everytime he needed help.
Her hand was casually in her purse, and what Loki didn't know was that she had pepper spray. It didn't seem like a lot, but it was one weapon that could save her life right now. But first, she'd have to distract him for a little while.
"How'd you get here?" Arthryn asked, keeping her finger on the nozzle of the bottle but still keeping it in her purse. She didn't want to ruin this. "You're supposed to be in jail." (Also known as suspension) Slowly, so very slowly, she started to inch herself closer to the driver side of a car.
"Yes, well, with the help of some members who have no idea why or how they got there, it was only a matter of time before I got out. Oh yeah, and Kingfloat helped a bit, too. And now I'm here to dispose you," Loki said, pointing the gun at her with every move.
"What did I do to get on your bad side? I recruited you for a reason, and yet you betray me. I gave you an extra chance, and you kick it away," Arthryn said. A change of mind came to her and she went closer to him.
"Not so fast, doc," a voice said behind her. Arthryn stopped dead in her tracks. She knew the voice way too well to know who it was.
"So, Quoth. Join his ranks now?" A harsh laugh came from Quoth.
"Ahh, you know me too well Arthryn. Now, time to kill you," Quoth said.
"Don't say words you don't mean." A snarl came from behind her, and Arthryn went into a daze. It took her a few seconds to realize she had been hit in the head by Quoth's gun. But she hadn't forgotten about the spray in her hand.
When she wasn't dizzy anymore, she rubbed the back of her head. Already a small swell had produced from the hit, but she wasn't going to give Loki the satisfaction of her pain.
Suddenly, there were footsteps from the steps and from the entrance of where Arthryn came from, now came Vincent. He had a bag of food from the cafeteria in his hands. When he saw everything unfold before him, he stopped, dropping the bag in fright. Quoth sighed and stepped in front of Arthryn, her back to her. Loki even turned to Vincent.
"Great, another innocent person to kill. To make it even better, he's on the staff!" Quoth said, giggling as if she were high on mouthwash.
Vincent stared at the gun, mouth agape. Arthryn wasn't going to lose this chance. As quietly and as fast as she could, she zipped out the spray and pushed as hard as she could with her finger. The spray came out and into Loki's eyes. He cried out in pain, covering his eyes with his eyes. Quoth had turned around, her back facing Vince.
"Now Vincent!" Arthryn shouted. He kicked Quoth in the back and an "Oof!" came from her mouth. "RUN!"
And that's exactly what they did. Arthryn took off down the parking garage while Vincent ran back into the stairs leading to the hospital. "Take him," Loki growled. Quoth ran after Vincent while Loki took Arthryn who already had a good start. Loki's eyes were red with fury and with the spray, but he could still see his enemy.
Arthryn didn't know where she was going, but she had to get away. Loki had his gun in hand, and with a keen eye and aim perfect for a pro, he fired the bullet. It entered through Arthryn's right shoulder, going in and coming out the other side. She screamed in pain, and almost collapsed. She weaved through cars, and ended up rolling under a car. She might have lost Loki.
Panting for breath was hard. She knew she was bleeding a lot, and already a pool of blood was already coming around her.
"Come out, come out, wherever you are," Loki said. She didn't know where he was, but he was close. Already she could hear the sirens. She knew which ones they were, and she heard them every day. It was only ambulances. But wait. There was something else there, too. It was a police siren, not an ambulance.
Right then, she could see his feet walking slowly closer to her. Her blood had probably come into his view. He stopped right at the side of the car she was under. He faced it, and his knees started to bend ever so slowly.
"Yah!" she shouted, kicking him in the face once it came into view. He stepped back and she rolled out from under the car on the opposite side of him. Her shoulder was in excruciating pain. It wasn't the first time she'd been shot and probably wouldn't be the last.
The sirens of the police grew louder in the parking garage and already the lights were dancing on the walls. They were coming closer.
Arthryn turned around to see Loki pointing his gun straight at her head. All she did was stand there, panting and giving him a stare full of hatred. They stood like this seconds more until the realization hit her.
Giving him a cool smile, she said, "You can't do it, can you?" He gripped the gun even more. His knuckles grew white. "If you shoot me, you'll end it now. But if you do that, you'll go to jail for the rest of the life, or you get the death penalty. You'll be banned for life. But if you leave now without killing me, you'll get away and we'll end this later," Arthryn said. Why was she trying to save Loki? She had no idea.
He seemed to hesitate as the cops got closer. But right before the cops came around the corner, he jumped over the ledge of the parking garage. They were high up and she wondered why he had jumped, but maybe something was down there to catch him. It didn't matter to her, though.
Arthryn grabbed a car for support. Air was getting harder to come and blood was dripping from her clothes. She didn't even hear the running footsteps that approached her.
"Arthryn! Are you...?" Vincent started to say as he ran toward her. When he stopped, his eyes grew wide. "Oh my god."
"I'm fine," she said, swaying a bit before she collapsed into his arms.

Arthryn was in surgery for what seemed like days, but everything went well. Only an hour had fixed up the bullet wound and the internal bleeding was closed up. It was seven at night, and the clinic had slowed down considerably, and the ER wasn't so full as before. It was Tuesday, so not much was going on around IF.
"So, what do we do now?" LG questioned as she took off her new jacket that Arthryn had instructed her to get. Of course, she hadn't left the hospital, even though she was told to take the rest of the day off. The hospital was practically her second home where all her friends were. Vincent was relaxing on the chair in the nurse's station, a sucker in his mouth.
"Well, we could play staff basketball outside in the back. I wouldn't mind. Nothing to do around here. The nurses are already taking care of everyone, and there's not many doctors that are on call. Nothing's going on around here, and it sucks terribly..." Vincent looked at the ground absentedly, trying to cover his boredom.
"Yeah, I guess so. But like you said, not many doctors are on call. Tsukyo's here, Storm, Riss, Cielina, Ben-"
"Oh God, not Ben," Vincent said, groaning. LG gave him a wierd look.
"Why not Ben? What do you have against him? He's fine with me," LG said.
"Just trust me on that, okay? No Ben. And besides, he probably acts nice around you for attention," he said, chucking his sucker to a trash can and missing by three feet. "Damn it..."
"Fine, I guess I won't page Ben. But you need to tell me why you don't like him. I mean, what's so wrong?" LG asked, getting out her cell phone to text the staff members on call. Maybe they could get a couple of members to liven the mood.
"Hey, Kari!" LG said, calling out Kari&Gatomon's name as the intern walked into the hall. "Up for some b-ball?"
Kari looked up from her clipboard, not quite sure how to respond to a doctor's request. She had tried so hard to stay on their good side, just because she didn't want to make anyone angry with her, or have any sour thought of her. It took her a couple moments to recover from her thinking to which she spoke.
"Umm, basketball? I don't know..."
"Oh come on, what could possibly go wrong?" LG said, walking over to her and grabbing her gently by the arm.
"Hmm, I could trip and crack my head, I could break an ankle by stepping on someone's foot, get pierced by a pole and die from internal bleeding, die from a heart tumer-"
"Kari, you're in a hospital. And besides, you have a heart tumer?" LG asked, a look of concern on her face. Kari hesitated, and appeared with a smile on her face.
"So, how about that basketball? I'll go get the others." Before Vince or LG could say anything else, she had ran off. LG could have sworn if she was a dog, she would have run with her tail between her legs. Sighing loudly, LG leaned against the counter.
"There are six of us who can play, but Kari might join us... Did you know anything about this heart tumer?" LG asked Vince.
"Umm, no, she's never mentioned it. Besides, I'm sure she was just kidding."
"I don't think so. You saw how she looked. Something's up," LG said, thumbing her fingers along the counter.
"I don't know about you, but I'm ready for some basketball."
"Should we check on Arthryn first?"
"Nah, she'll be just fine," he said, taking off at a fast walk towards the back of the hospital. It would take many halls to get to the back, but it would be fine. Only one hoop was waiting for them with a chain netting.
Everyone on call was there, including Kari who stood on the side lines with the clipboard clutched to her chest. It was cold out here, and some snow was still blowing. The wind was strong, bringing the feel of tempature down to twenty degrees. It was dropping, but that didn't stop the urge to play basketball.
From the looks of it, Kari was just there to watch, and even she was trying to stay warm. Her white coat was cut down to the waist, recording her status as an intern, and she didn't even have a jacket.
The ones who were going to play this amazing game of basketball were in their white coats, and that was it, besides their other regular day clothing.
"Okay!" LG exclaimed, clapping her hands together. Standing in front of her was Tsukyo, Storm, Riss, and Cielina. They all had red noses, but determination in their eyes. Riss had a smile on his face, glancing around at his opponents and soon to come, teammates.
"I say we split up into teams. I'll be team captain, along with Vince. Okay, you can go first, Vince," LG said to him.
"Riss." With that, Riss gave Vince a fist pump to him, and stepped to the side.
"Tsukyo," LG said. He came over silently with no emotions displayed on his face. A slight glow was in his eyes. He didn't even speak to her.
"Storm," Vince said. Storm gave him a devilish smile, walking over to him.
"Guess that leaves you, Cielina. You're on my team," LG said.
"Why am I always picked last?" Cielina said, barely audible as she muttered to herself. LG sighed softly, tired of hearing this everytime they played. Of course, Cielina was a quiet person, giving her a unique personality. She was a decent basketball player, and LG was excited with her team, but Vince had the more skills. Storm and Riss were amazing at this game, and adding Vince pretty much made them invincible.
All of them walked over to the one hoop on the side of the parking lot. The white paint for the boundaries had worn away greatly, but it was barely visible.
"You guys can have the ball first," Vince said cockily, tossing LG the basketball. He smiled mischeviously as they took their positions at the top of the three point. She passed the ball to him, which he tossed back rather roughly. She grunted slightly as it slammed into her stomach. That shot adrenaline through her, and a determination to crush his butt.
With that, she gave him the mischevious smile as she passed Tsukyo the ball who was guarded by Storm, ultimately starting the game.

He gave her twelve roses. Eleven were real and one was fake. He said, "I'll love you 'til the last one dies."
