Okay, starting from yesterday, I'm going to post all the signatures I create in this thread
I'm new to sig making (just yesterday) so don't bite my head off.
I'll continue this for as long as it pleases me.

One:

First attempt ever. I was just messing around with brushes, and chose render
at the last second because it looked cool, not because it fit with the colour
scheme. xD

EDIT: Also, I didn't know how to darken the figure of goku without losing the carefully placed shadows, or darkening his kamehameha

two:

Hmm. Yep. Need a bigger collection of brushes thumbup.gif
Didn't turn out at all like I planned it. I made the render
myself though, so that's a plus. Overall, dissatisfied with the result.

I can juggle 5 balls, turn a handspring, speed read, do a flip (forward+back), C-walk, Melbourne shuffle, do an airflare and walk on my hands. What can YOU do?
Don't argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

The second one is REALLY good. Besides the fact that I'm a diehard DBZ fan, It just looks awesome. When you say you made Goku yourself, do you mean you cut him out, or you actually drew it?

I cut him out, and spent about an hour in 800% zoom doing it xD. No I didn't draw him.

I should hope it looks good...took about four hours.

Only part I am REALLY happy with is the actual kamehameha ball of energy
(which, coincedentally I made myself, using brushes and smudges and about
three layers).

And it was my first render too thumbup.gif

Ok, I'm going to make another sig today, probably a Guild Wars one. Since I'm
a die hard fan of the game ).gif

EDIT: I kinda noticed that my two previous sigs suffered because I only had like 30-50 brushes. So I have been on dev art for the past 30 mins downloading brushes and C4D's. So far I have around 2-3000 brushes, and about 20 C4D's. My question is, what is the average amount of brushes that someone uses?

Whhaaa? How long have you been sig making then??

Three:

I can't tell you how dissapointed I am with this sig. Nika (the render) had so much potential...

Oh well. C&C?

Ummm, since March, if memory serves me correctly. Mostly I just get what I need from Google or PlanetRenders.

I'll start with C&C on the guildwars thing. You shouldn't brush over the face, or whatever focus you decide to use. I also think you should take a look at the rule of thirds, which is where, as I understand it, you don't center your focus, but you offset it to allow the surrounding to enhance it.

Second, I don't know if you mistyped, but what you have there is definitely not a sig, wallpaper maybe, but not a sig. A sig is just a banner that fits in your forum signature, so if it's too big, it isn't a signature banner.

Third I tend to use one to four brushes in a sig, usually just two. The brushes you use all depend on how you make your sigs though, so having so many may not be an issue for you. I just find it hard to keep so many organized, so my style doesn't use many. I only have 78 brushes, most of which are stock brushes that I never touch.

When outnumbered, just remember, you have walked into a target rich environment, swing away.

Ty for the C&C, I did originally have Nika (the Render) just a bit to the right, (yes I've read rule of thirds) but I didn't like the positioning because it made the left half of my picture look plain.

I brushed over the character's face because of two reasons:

1. I wanted it to look like the purple was like a mist type effect, and she was appearing out of the mist (didn't work out quite like I expected)

2. I wanted to experiment with layers, since my last two sigs only had one or two, while this picture had about 12

Yes I do realise that it isn't a sig whistle.gif but I just wanted to try something bigger. I am now a firm believer that signatures are easier than wallpapers ).gif

Sorry I explained it wrong. I'm going to post all of the graphics I create, including:

Signature
Wallpaper
Banner
Poster
Picture

KS

EDIT: I cut out the render myself (hair was an interesting challenge). It's proving to be quite a rewarding skill to know that you can cut out any part of any picture you want thumbup.gif

I would reccomend that you start making a new topic for every new tag. It will help out the C&C precess, and probably give you more of it in total.

Lol, I just wanted kinda like a gallery to show my progress as a graphics designer.

Maybe I will.

From now on.

Hmm...ok.

Ok, good news guys. I have the internet back. The bad news is I have lost all my renders, C4D's brushes and stocks, since I had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall vista. Damn. Just means new sigs will take a while to come. And since I also have exams coming up (dang nabbit, I hate exams) graphics comes like fifth on my list, right after trampolining.

That was great!

Anyways, I find that it takes some time for you to get back in the swing of things, and taking a break my help.
