Chapter One:
InheritanceForums, oh, the beauty and the joy of the place seemed to fill the very air- from the welcoming introduction section to the underground catacombe housing the most evil beings known to Inheritance fans and anti fans, IF was a place of mystery and beauty; but, with beauty, must come darkness. Beauty beside death, growth beside starvation- but, my dear reader, such is life.
We begin this story on a nice, sunny day- on the outside. However, inside of the catacombs, it was dark and stormy, and evil things were roaming.
Death and beauty was in the air, and innocent Vincent had wandered out of the Cycle section, dazed and confused from the sudden lack of n00bz. ND had tried to stop him, but it was to no avail. "No! Vince! You can't go down there! The darkest things roam, and who knows what would happen?!" He had yelled at Vincent, trying to knock him out of his confusion. "I've never been there before, ND! And tonight is my night! The dark is calling- and who am I to refuse it's call?"
He skipped merrily down the dark spire, unaware that he was heading into a journey darker than anything he had ever seen- so dark, in fact, that ND would not go down. He had to go get help. "Tsyuko!" He called out for help. "Come quick! Vincent has gone down... To FTD!"
Later, Vincent had somehow skipped down to the bottom without incident and came upon a dark passage. "What does the rest of IF think of you..." He read under his breathe. "Hmm. This could be interesting." He walked down the passage and began calling out, "So what does everyone think of me?" As his voice echoed, there was no response-
-Until Uzeeh stepped out of the shadows. "Vincent!" He said, grinning. "You're a fine old chap! Here, come inside- share a beer with me and Quothy!" Vincent followed him, confused. "Who the hell are you?"
Uzeeh gave a small chuckle. "Why, I am your master, young one - I have taught you all you know." His voice echoed into a chamber, and Vincent heard Quoth the Raven's voice come out- "I heard that, Uzeeh! Our master will not like this!" As Vincent walked into the dimly lit room, he could see the dark creature's skin visibly pale (something he assumed was very hard for a creature of such a dark green complexion).
"Who is this master, sir?" He asked. Before Uzeeh could answer, a darkness filled the room as he heard Quoth the Raven's voice- "He is dark and mysterious, Vincent. You shall meet him soon, but remember; do not be afraid. He is kind. Gentle. Almost loving. And he has nothing but the best of intentions for all of IF." Vincent nodded.
"Now, let's get down to business!" Uzeeh said. "Let's get Vincent here a grand old case of beer!" Quoth nodded. "But remember our master's orders- make sure to include the shotgun. We cannot afford to displease him again." Vincent, still dazed and confused, was promptly handed a loaded rifle, a virtually unlimited amount of ammunition, and a case of beer that Uzeeh assured him 'would never run out.'
"Drink away, Vincy!" Uzeeh said to him, grinning even wider and more horrifically than Vincent had ever seen. Vincent grinned back and drank.
A few hours had passed until Vincent was suitably drunk to meet, as Quoth and Uzeeh referred to him, 'The Dark Lord".
He was lead down yet another dark passageway as Quoth informed him how to act. "Remember! Our Lord loves us, but we do not want to anger him, for he is quick to violence and other forms of punishment. When you meet him, you must bow and swear fealty- and remember this once more! Do not resist anything He does, no matter how painful it may seem at first; you can always know that His intentions are the best ones."
He nodded once more as they went down the passageway until they came upon two large doors with strange words engraved upon them. "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn..." Quoth read the words, and the door mysteriously opened to a strange man in a hood.
"The Darkest One," She whispered, bowing in unison with Uzeeh. Vincent, however, was far too dazed, confused, and - more recently - drunk to bow.
"Bow, you arrogant fool!" The Dark One's voice echoed in the cave as dark shadow filled the room. Slowly, Vincent felt compelled to move; it was not a conscious action- he had no choice. "Insolent, eh?" He said. "Let me show you what I am."
Quoth and Uzeeh gasped. "But Lord!" She said, "You could kill him." He growled. "It is not you to question me, girl!" He took his hood down, and out came the scariest, most horrifying image Vincent had ever seen as he collapsed into unconsciousness.
The Dark One was Sogemplow, yes - but He was also Cthulhu.
