Okay, consider it changed ;).gif

Meh, I don't think some small thievery would be OOC for Veritas, he could be chased by the shop dude and run into some guards. Would we need to RP that out? Or could we just do it in our history?

I don't really mind who shares a house with who

I dont mind either. Did you say four to a house? Thats good idea. You could always write down all the names (of us and the relevant house-sharing NPCs) onto paper. Rip them up and put em in piles of four... Or not. Up to you

Agreed. Just distribute us out. XD

Kari - Your history's sort of okay, only I have trouble joining the dots there. What's with that bit on falling into a Diglett hole? Also, you didn't exactly elaborate on your travelling and such. I don't think foreign travellers get hauled in for Assessment, they volunteer.

That, coupled together with what you said to UB, I think, cleared up exactly what you meant by Assessment, I think. Just to be clear, though, elaborate on why we'd be there, please?

It's for everyone, including yourself, to get a better idea of who you are, what you can do, and so hopefully help you find your place in life. Mostly, of course, regular labourers' or merchants' children still go back to farming or whatever, but the Assessment gives anyone who wants to a chance to pursue their dreams, yes?

I think we RP it out. Makes for an interesting start.

Okay, I'll decide then. Luna, Lares, Lupia and Veritas to a house, 'supervisor' Carlo Stark. George, Katerina, Tara and Thomas to the house next door, with Steven Stark.

Oh, by the way, sleight of hand is spelled as such, not 'slight'. You missed a 'e', Byakko.

Will only be on an average of once a week for the rest of this year, on account of potentially life-affecting examinations to be taken.

Do we get to name the house that we live in like a group kinda like the houses in harry potter?

No. Because it doesn't work like the houses in Harry Potter. Okay, ten to one the teens all nickname their houses anyway, so go ahead. It's just not necessary, that's all.

Okay, been working on more characters to add to our lively cast, so you guys can get some idea of some of the people hanging about in the complex. I am retaining a little control of them, but mostly all of these characters can be treated as you would any NPC, control them for whatever you need. Same goes for Carlo and Steve Stark, mind.
___________________________________________________________

Name: Jonathan (Jon) Drake

Gender: Male

Age: 26

Appearance: Jon is 1.7m tall, with a wiry built. Long, slightly wind-tossed locks of auburn hair frame an angular face with dark brown, almost black eyes and a small nose. Black wisp-like curves Mark his left shoulder blade and biceps.
Dressing plainly to avoid attention, Jon wears loose long-sleeved T-shirts, which are usually white or pale blue, and jeans, black or dark blue. Black leather boots are worn, along with a belt. A ring or two is sometimes seen on his fingers, a silver stud in his right earlobe, and bands of metal usually clasp and encircle his forearms.

Weapons/Skills: Possessing minor gifts with the Aura, Jon is constantly attuned to his surroundings, making it impossible to sneak up on him unnoticed. He can also work various vision spells, and can tell if someone is lying to him. However, his powers are not nearly strong enough for him to fight using them.
One of the best knife fighters among the Thieves, Jon carries at least eight daggers on him, only one of which hangs openly at his belt. Just about anything you can do with a knife, he knows how to do, and probably better than you do.
Jon can ride, swim, climb, and is skilled at evasion and tracking. Sleight-of-hand and lock-picking are only two of his wide range of more dubious abilities.

Personality: Outwardly cheerful and easy-going, Jon is, by necessity, a careful and mistrustful person, though his wariness is hardly apparent. Passionate and utterly devoted to any goal he has set himself, he has something of a personal code of honour.

Pokemon: Jon has a Monferno, Marley, and a Grovyle, Haley, both male. Marley was his first Pokemon, while Haley was acquired soon after he escaped Assessment. Both are as close friends, and are highly skilled, even helping him with thieving jobs as needed.

Others: Carlo Stark is a good friend of his, as the then healer-in-training helped him out when Marley got injured in a training accident. In return, Jon taught him a few tricks, and helped him with the Pokemon-thieving incident. The two still meet often, and Jon constantly 'attempts' to convince Carlo to join the Thieves, while the healer and Guardian 'tries' to get Jon to reform.
We'll probably see Jon hanging about from time to time. In fact, he'll be looking to make a few friends.
_______________________________________________________

Name: Lenobia Maven

Gender: Female

Age: 25

Appearance: 1.7m tall, with a stout figure, black hair cropped short, reaching the tips of her earlobes, Lenobia has a distinctly tomboy feel about her. Her skin is a deep coffee colour, her eyes dark brown, while her facial features are squarish and stubborn.
She wears jeans and cotton shirts in dark colours, with a leather belt and boots. A green and red twist of string is worn in a loop on her right wrist, with tiny, hand-carved wooden runes of protection, luck and health attached to it.

Weapons/Skills: Skilled in the handling of animals, Lenobia can handle even the most bad-tempered Rapidash with apparent ease. Naturally, she is an excellent rider.
Her only ability with actual weapons is the longbow, and she is a good shot, though by no means astounding. You'll see a yew bow and a quiver of arrows hanging on a wall in the stables.

Personality: Short-tempered with any human, Lenobia is extraordinarily gentle with animals and Pokemon, though she makes it known to them that she will stand for no nonsense from them either. She is passionate and caring, and cleverer than she seems.

Pokemon: Lenobia has the curious view that Pokemon are rather flashy, and prefers regular animals, but has a female Leafeon named Spring, an active creature who acts like a shepherd and guard dog.

Others: We have stables, yes, here in the East section? Lupia has a horse, Lares will be wanting a Rapidash, some of you will be learning to ride? Therefore, we might see her about.
_______________________________________________________

Name: Mikuri

Gender: Male

Age: 41

Appearance: Part-Dinogi, Mikuri's skin is pale, with only a slight tan, while his hair is jet-black, with a streak of teal blue running through it. He stands at 1.76m in height, with a lanky, lean frame.
His Marks are sharp, elegant lines which curve around his facial features, the strokes forming what seems to be the outline of a dragon, with wings outstretched to frame his eyes, the head and neck curving down his nose, the tail twisting back along the crown of his head, giving his hair the teal streak in it. The colour of his eyes and his Marks are the strangest thing about him, the Marks seeming to shimmer uncertainly between hues of green, blue and purple, while his eyes seem to change colour. A long scar goes down his left arm, with many other faint white or pale reddish-pink marks on his body, particularly about his hands, arms and legs.
He wears shirts and pants of rough linen cloth, and a cloth sash around his waist. Strips of cloth are wound around his palms, forearms, calves and feet. The soft shoes he wears offer him more flexibility in movement. All his clothing come in shades of white, blue, green or purple, to complement his Marks.

Weapons/Skills: A powerful Dragon Aurian, a Telhanu, Mikuri is extremely good at fighting using his Aurian skills, producing powerful blasts of energy, creating illusions to confuse his opponents, even able to work temporary, partial shapeshifts to enhance his fighting ability, though trying incredibly strong and complex spells will require his spending a couple of days in bed afterwards.
As Telhanu, he is trained in the use of various weapons, though his favourites are the Dinogi katana, the hand-and-a-half sword, knives, and the halberd. He carries three knives on his person, along with a katana strapped to his back.

Personality: Since childhood, discipline, honour, compassion and other such virtues have been constantly taught and ingrained, a key part of how the Telhanu bring up their children. Mikuri has all these values and more. He leads a life devoid of luxury, is highly disciplined his ways, and his only idea of fun is the satisfaction gained in mastery of a new form of combat. His sense of fairness and personal honour prevents him from using his Aurian skills against a non-Aurian, or allowing any pointless violence in his presence.

Grey-blue is his usual eye colour, reflecting his friendly but reserved character. His eyes are dark grey when he is wary, bright grass-green when in relatively intimate situations, such as with close friends, blue when casual and outgoing, brown when in deep thought, amber gold when excited, usually while fighting, and black when he is angry. They also glow blue-green when he uses his Aurian skills.

Pokemon: A male Dragonair, Graceful Rider of Sea Storms, is Mikuri's only partner, and the two are close friends who trust each other completely. He first met Stormrider when, sailing from Dinogi to Alaria, the ship encountered a fierce storm and the boy fell overboard, to be rescued by a Dratini. Stormrider evolved the day Mikuri's Marks appeared, during a training session.

Others: A little lacking in the wanderlust most Telhanu suffer from, Mikuri is the Aurian combat instructor at the Battleschool, having turned down offers of more prestigious positions. No worries, he's quite reasonable, he won't push anyone too hard, and he'll have good advice for anyone with questions.
________________________________________________________

I know Mikuri seems a little overamped, but I wanted to have a little fun, he rarely does actual fighting, and is generally not much of a companion unless you want an extended discussion on combat techniques. And besides, I know no one, not even him, can fight a whole army alone.

Will add more people as needed, or simply if I have a good idea XD.

Let's see.... we need a NPC for Steve's house?
________________________________________________________

Name: Cinna

Gender: Male

Age: 13

Appearance: Cinna is 1.7m tall, average height for someone at least half-Nocianese, lean and fit, with brown hair in something of a shaggy crew cut, black eyes that seem to have gold flecks in them, and (how exactly do you describe Singaporean Chinese skin? Somewhat light brown with a slight tinge of 'yellow', for want of a better term?). Black Marks decorate his hands in an elaborate, intricate lace-like pattern, faintly glittering gold and seeming to have runes incorporated among the complex weave of fine lines.
He likes plain, dark clothing, preferably black, with matching leather belt and shoes. Carries a slingbag with him, which contains his drawing materials, small tools for craftwork, and some of his finished pieces, along with items such as clothing and food supplies. A bronze-capped oaken staff is also taken with him wherever he goes.

Weapons/Skills: Not really the active, excitement-loving type, Cinna usually does his best to avoid confrontation, handling weaponry, or finding a use for said weaponry. However, having been adopted by a band of Telhanu, he did pick up on a lot of knowledge about combat, and is handy with a quarterstaff.
With regard to his Aurian abilities, no one is quite sure whether he is a Dark-Type or Aura user. He seems able to employ some spells beyond the scope of a Dark Aurian, and yet other spells have backfired on him. Thus far, whatever his magic Type, he is fairly proficient in using his skills for offense, defense and evasion, and can also employ them in his work with his chosen hobbies.
His talents lie in arts and crafts, having an observant eye and an agile hand. He is a good artist already, but aspires to do much better. His fluid agility also lends itself to unseen movement, and he is a natural at using this skill to avoid trouble.

Personality: Fairly quiet, Cinna is by no means shy, simply one who knows not to waste words on unnecessary issues. A side effect of his creative streak is that he is a rather impressionable person, easily influenced by his surroundings, and suffers occasional mood swings as a result, though this is not very obvious as he channels his negative emotions into his artwork. Also quite a bright young man, he can however come across as slighty odd, due to his general dislike of physical exertion and interest in things considered 'sissy' by some guys.

History: Not much is known about where Cinna comes from, having been abandoned as a baby, left on the edge of the campsite of a band of Telhanu with a note giving his name. The Telhanu adopted him, a common practice, and brought him up in their ways, though it was soon apparent that he had neither interest nor talent for the fighting arts most of the Dragon People practised.
Instead, with encouragement from Eda, the Telhanu woman who raised him, Cinna set out to pursue his real interest, which lay in art and craft. He soon went from stolen moments in the evenings after sword drills, scratching lines in the dirt, to sketching his peers at work with practice drills, on paper bought just for him. Some of the other adults were a little sceptical of allowing Cinna to not undergo the full regime of strict training they put their own children through, but soon agreed that he did far better this way, though they still insisted he master some form of self-defense.
The band of Telhanu eventually left Nociane for Dinogi, then moved on again, to Alaria. Adhering to the local practice of Assessment, the teeagers of the band were sent into the complexes at the major cities they passed, and they were in the capital, Alarinte, when Cinna had his 13th 'birthday'.

Pokemon: Cinna has a female Sneasel, Ice-clawed Shadow Huntress, and a male Xatu, Sun Watcher Who Sees Far, only recently evolved and still unsure of himself. He met Sunny when he was 6, travelling Nociane with the Telhanu group, and Shadow at age 10, in Dinogi. Sunny is quiet, not at all fussy, and has the usual Xatu habit of staring at the sun, standing in a trance, while Shadow is bold and adventurous, though not mischievous, and is learning to use her skills in carving wood, as Cinna is trying to teach her to do.

I get the feeling this 'NPC' is simply going to be my second main playing character....

D.gif Artist, eh? Someone for Tara to interact with. There also seems to be a heavy Nocianese influence in Steve's house. Two dark Aurians, one of whom is half Nocianese and a ghost Aurian who has some amount of Nocianese blood. This should be interesting.
