Masturbation

So, I've gotten a very heated debate, heated is an under statement. We wanted to kill each other. More or less the arguement was if masterbation was ok. More or less on a moral level, and also on a physical well being level. But it was mainly about it being morally right or wrong. Anyways, just wanted to know what all of you thought.

Athletes

Athletes these days pull in huge amouts of money, some are pulling in well over 9 figures a year. Look at the NHL the minimum salary for a rookie player is 500,000 dollars. Your average person doesn't make that much in 8 years. The vast majority of doctors make less then that, and the only type that makes more are nuerologists. Remember, we aren't talking about Wayne Gretzky here, we are talking about rookies. Then you have the superstars, the best example probably being Lebron James, who pulls in around $145,000,000 a year. I could probably come up with a cool fact relating to how much money is donated to cancer research each year and compare it, but im too lazy for that at this moment. So, for now use your imagination. Lastly you have the bums, extremly talented bums for sure, probably as talented as your superstars if they aren't one. They ride their natural ability to a nice big check. Case and point, Bode Miller, now I'm sure half of you just said, Bode who? Bode is an American ski racer, the most succesful ever. This however is not due to his commitment to the sport, for a large part of his career he spent more time partying then racing, and has admitted to racing drunk/hung over. You can google him to find out more, there is a lot more trust me. Don't get me wrong, he is an amazing athlete, one of the best in the country, if you forget his escapades. Anyways how much did he make while partying his way through Europe? A nice, 2 million dollars a year from his ski contract alone. My point, should an athlete who cares more about drinking then winning really get paid 2 million dollars a year? Should any athlete get paid these incredible amounts???

Roman Polanski

I'm sure most of you know whats going on with what is going on with Roman Polanski, those of you who don't know can go google it. I think he shouldn't go to jail, for reasons that I'm sure I will get to explain when/if this developes, but do you think he should go to jail. Why or why not?

Do you exist?

Another thing I think about far too often, do I exist? Now someone is probably saying right now, of course I exist, and even if I didn't does it really matter? Does it really matter, probably not, at the most it could possibly alter your perception of your world. Though thats about it. The other thing someone is probably saying, "of course I exist". Is actually fairly easily answered, how do you know you exist? So basically what I'm asking is what I already stated, "how do you know you exist?", or how do you know you don't exist ect ect ect.

Free will vs Determinism

This one of those things I think about a lot, since it ties in a lot with the physical world. I know what I believe, or I at least have a fairly solid idea of what I believe. So I wanted to know what you believe. I personally believe in determinism, if one believes in cause and effect detreminism seems like and obvious answer, just my personally opinion though.

So what do you believe *does the uncle sam point*, free will, or determinism?
