Hmm... I'd say play up the contrast a tad bit. Also, dudeman (I don't watch/play FF so I don't know his name) looks a bit blurry. The empty space to the left is distracting too. Maybe add some text?

Otherwise, I like it. It's way better than anthing I could ever come up with. I like the flowy-ness (word?) of the background and the sublte hint of stars. Again though, maybe do something to it. The big triangle shape is really pulling my eye away from what I assume is the main focus - the guy.

Wow, Version 2 looks amazing. It definitely makes your subject stand out a lot more. The only problem is that it's really plain on the left hand side. All it is is just empty space. You should probably add some text to it and/or some type of design. Your blending is awesome, but you just need something to balance it out.

Version 2 looks much better than the first one, but I agree that it's still a little empty on the left side... Maybe you could put in part of the light source (the moon in the upper left corner). Of course I don't know what you want to have in your sig, it was just an idea...
