Well, I'm thinking, what is the best signature of the year, since last March 2008? What would make you say "Wow, that's awesome!" Or make you split your sides laughing, or make you say "Thats a handy piece of knowledge there."
Post all your amazing signatures here (2 signatures per a person) and the entries close on Friday. Then the contestants get to cast a vote, they cannot vote for themselves. I put this into FTD because I had no clue where else to put it, so feel free to move it as you please, *looks at Ally expectantly*.

Moved to Graphics.

Ummm...well if we can't make new stuff, this doesn't really interest the graphics community. Old stuff would be great to vote on, but how many of us are really going to spend time digging through archives and old sigs to find 'the one?'
Maybe if you did the digging?

Well for the funniest one, I definitely nominate Beefy's buttsecks one hahahahah.

I'm going to change this topic title to "Discussion" until we can come up with a solid plan on what we're doing with this. Actually, I think it would be better for people to nominate other people's sigs. Especially since it's an "awards" topic and not a competition.

I'd also like to point out two of Beefy's awesome ones (I don't know if I'm voting for them):

Awesome.

Beautiful.
I'll dig through MTBngers when I have time...he's got some good ones stashed away somewhere.

I'll nominate these two:
mtbanger still rocks my socks off with this one:

otterwarrior16 rules with the photo manip sigs

Although, for parody sigs, it's funny that nobody has mentioned Wra1th's thoughts on Beefy. If we decide to do more than one category for this, I nominate this for the lol category.

ohhh! Categories would be a great idea.
Any suggestions?

Any suggestions?
Well, other than 'Humourous': 'Abstract', A prize for uniqueness, like the most original idea/sig. We could also have an LP/wallpaper category. And... euhmm... Artist of the Year-Sigs or something like that. There's not much else we could do, unless it's something like 'The sig with the best colours'.

I like your ideas, Beefy. Now the question remains - how do we actually find the sigs that are nomination-worthy that might be a little older. I suppose we could all link to our image hosting accounts or something, although I at least know I would have to reorganize things a little so you could find the sigs in between the mass of random junk I have in there. Or should we all post our favorites of each category that we've made, and then people can vote for it in a sort of SotW style? That is, of course, assuming we want to do a big thing with this, which I am all for. I think it sounds like a cool idea.

Usually a pretty quick idea is to go through a members 'Topic List' search, and then just open all the ones in new tabs and then go through em, its usually only a page or two of total topics to go through anyway so it doesn't take that long.
For example mine:

Maybe just make the categories clear first, and then.... I dunno, maybe if we wanted, everyone could make a tagwall of all their sigs of the last year, but that'd be too much work. The easiest thing would be just to find some sigs that could be nominated through the topics thing. I dunno about you guys, but I think I remember the really outstanding sigs from the year and who made them, so it shouldn't be too difficult for people who have been around the graphics section a while to find them. It's just that, it'd be better if more people than the few who frequent the graphics section vote and stuff in this competition too, so if they want to nominate sigs and stuff, it'd be more difficult for them to do so. And even if we linked to our albums, not many people would go through them. So maybe everyone just posts what they feel are their best sigs, and that'd make it easier for people to nominate and stuff, and it isn't that difficult for us to choose them, since we have a good idea of our best sigs.

Well I think for categories these would be a good idea...
The LoL category:
The Awesome category:
The Beautiful category:
In a category of it's own category: (a.k.a. something that wont fit in anywhere else)
Any more suggestions would be nice, I really have a limited imagination.
My nominations:

Hmm A top 3 tag wall could be a good idea, even though it kinda defeats the name 'sig of the year'.
Ill start looking around I've got my eye on a few tags already.

^Sweet! Thanks mtb.
For the categories, it should definitely be more technical/graphics oriented (e.g. best abstract, best lighting, most original, best vector, top style, etc. stuff like that)

Yes, but I'm not a real gfx sort of person, this just popped into my head. Well I guess those would work, but seeing as I'm not the gfx type, I suggest you tell me what the correct categories ought to be, then I'll post the finish product of those categories.
