Noooooo, James my friend, you have regressed backwards. It is quite wierd, and definately not you man. totally doesn't agree with you.

I think it looks odd because the hat looks like it's not a real hat. It looks like someone made it with a program, and the same goes for the table. It all looks too artificial.

Your picked renders aren't good.

The blurring of the table makes it look like it's far behind the hat, so it's appearing to float a little bit.
