So, Josh/PityOnMurtagh has been bugging me to post these. So, here are a few! I have around six or seven, because I get extremely bored and make them.

Flame render + District 9 text + Century Gothic text. I don't admit to having any skill, because frankly I do not know anything about GIMP, period. Which is kind of sad, since it's been on my computer for years now.

So, here are my latest:

YEAAAAA MAN. I'm like that Chicago song. I'm the inspiration. XD

I really was gonna post them if you didn't too.

Anyways, taking them for what they're worth, they're really great. Flows well. I'm not sure of what you did, but I like them.

Black background: Bucket tool.
White background: I make it my default.

Colors are from gradients (easy to find on GIMP).

The renders are filters > renders > nature > flame.

They are a bit pixely....

Go to planetrenders.nert. It has some lovely fractal renders.

There is still hope for you....This was how I started!
LyriantheFirst
You started by screwing around with the flame render function on GIMP? xD

I'm so useless I can't do anything but add text. D:

Kinda, but my first sig was with a fractal render like yours.

here it is

Haha, nice. I made the renders via a program on GIMP - and in fact, I don't even know how to edit photos on GIMP. Literally. The only thing I've done so far is experiment with the smudge and the burn/lighten tools.

Which became this:

I like it. xD.

That's exactly what I started doing. Smudging, copying and dodge/burning.

It also became these two:
